If you see a message on the screen saying “This error was an error connecting to the platform. Please restart your game client” when you are trying to play the game called Valorant, please follow the instruction, which is restarting your game client. However, if it does not work, you can try some of the following methods:
Method 1: Check the server status
The Valorant error code 43 might be caused by server maintenance. Aside from that, it might be caused due to the unexpected downtime of the servers. If you want to make sure if it is the case, you can just visit the service page status of Riot Games. On the page, you have to choose Valorant as your game to check if there is any issue with the server.
Method 2: Restart the modem or router
The error code 43 is the kind of error that indicates a connectivity issue. It is important for you to check if your internet is not stable or down. To be able to do that, all that you have to do is to restart your modem or router.
Method 3: Update the network adapter driver
The error code 43 has something to do with network or server connection. Why your game cannot be played can be due to the outdated network adapter driver. In order to fix the issue, you have to update your network adapter, especially if you cannot recall the last time you updated it. Updating the network adapter driver is able to be done manually by going to the official website of the manufacturer. When you are on the website, you can download and install the correct network driver for your system.
As the alternative, you can also do it automatically. There is a thing known as Driver Easy that you can use. This one has an ability to automatically recognize your system and find the correct driver for it. The good thing about it is that there is no need for you to know exactly what system is run by your computer. Not only that, you do not have to worry about downloading and installing the wrong driver and about making a mistake when installing. Driver Easy is available for free. However, you are recommended to use the Pro version as you will be able to update the network adapter driver with just 2 clicks.
Method 4: Flush the DNS cache
Your computer will automatically cache IP addresses and the other domain name system results due to regular internet usage. Clearing this cache is recommended to refresh the data and to get rid of the outdated data that might be the cause of the connection issues.
Method 5: Enable Vanguard service
Riot Vanguard is known as the new anti cheat system of Riot and it is needed to play the game called Valorant. If you want to play the game, you should enable it. To make sure that it is enabled, here is step by step to follow:
- Firstly, press the Windows logo key and R on your keyboard at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
- Then, enter msconfig and press Enter.
- The next thing that you have to do is to click on the Services tab, find the vgc service, tick the box beside it to enable the service, and then press Apply > OK.
- Do not forget to click Restart.
Method 6: Change Vanguard startup type
Even if you have enabled vgc service, it is still possible for the crash to happen. If you want to check if it is the case, you can follow every step below:
- Press Windows logo key and R
- Enter taskmgr and hit Enter.
- Go to all Valorant and Riot game processes by right clicking on each and choose End task.
- Press Windows logo key and At.
- Enter service.msc and hit Enter.
- Find vgc service, right click it and choose Properties.
- Click on the down arrow in Startup type and choose Automatic before clicking Apply > OK.
- When everything is done, please click Start.
Method 7: Run compatibility troubleshooter
If there is an error code 43, it means the client of the game could not run it within a specified time. This issue has something to do with the connection. Actually, it can also be due to a compatibility issue. To solve the issue, you can follow the guide below:
- The first thing that you need to do is to press the Windows logo key and R at the same time. By doing so, File Explorer will be opened.
- When it opens, open C:\Drive > Riot Games > Riot Client.
- After that, go to RiotClientServices. Please right click it and choose Troubleshoot compatibility. By following the step, some issues will start getting detected.
- Next, click Troubleshoot program.
- Lastly, click Next.
Method 8: Do a clean boot
Clean boot is known as one of the troubleshooting methods that is proven to be effective to identify the application or service that is causing the issue. By doing a clean boot in Windows, you will be able to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game. To be able to do that, you can follow the following steps:
- First of all, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
- When it opens, enter msconfig and then press Enter.
- Thirdly, click on the Services tab, check the box Hide all Microsoft services and click Disable all > Apply > OK.
- After that, click Restart.
Method 9: Reinstall Vanguard
If no one of the methods above is helpful, you are encouraged to reinstall Vanguard to check if it is caused by a corrupted file inside the game.
