CHANGE THE WINDOWS SPOTLIGHT PICTURE
Apparently, there are some steps that you have to do to change the Windows Spotlight picture. Here are steps:
- The first thing that you have to do is to open the Settings app and go to the Personalization group of settings.
- After that, you have to choose ‘Lock Screen’ and open the ‘Background’ drop-down.
- Now, you are able to choose ‘Picture’ instead of Windows Spotlight and then choose an image.
- Please Lock your system once to ensure the image has been updated.
- The next step that you have to do is to unlock your system and open the Settings app again.

- If you do not see the option to change the background to Windows spotlight at Settings -> Personalization -> Lock screen, it could be because that setting is managed by your organization. In this case, you need to check with your system administrator for more info.
- Keep in mind that the Windows Spotlight will not appear after restarting or shutting down your device. An account with spotlight turned on requires to be signed in to Windows first. To test if Windows spotlight is working properly, you have to press Windows logo key + L to lock your device. Then, the Windows spotlight picture should appear on the lock screen.
- If you do not see the Windows spotlight picture when you are signing in, choose the Start button, then choose Settings -> Personalization -> Lock screen. Next, ensure that ‘Show lock screen picture on the sign-in screen’ is turned on.
DISABLE THE HERO IMAGE ON THE SIGN-IN SCREEN
The default Hero image is able to be disabled on the sign-in screen, leaving a solid color, your personalization color instead. You will be able to found the setting in the same place as the lock screen settings in Settings app. If you want to disable the Hero image on the sign-in screen, simply you are able to follow these steps below:
- At the first step, you have to open the Settings app from the Start menu and then navigate to the lock screen settings under Personalization.
- At the bottom of the personalization screen, you are able to toggle the Show Windows background picture on the sign-in screen option to Off.
- In this step, you have to close the Settings app.
SOLVE WINDOWS SPOTLIGHT LOCK SCREEN PICTURE NOT CHANGING
Windows Spotlight Pictures are loved by many Windows users. However, recently there are some users who have reported that the Windows Spotlight Pictures on the Lock screen are not changing anymore. They have no idea why they have stuck indefinitely on a particular picture and not changing anymore.
To solve this problem, you are able to solve it by using Powershell and Registry editor. Here are steps to do that:
- At the first step, you have to click on start button and then click on Gear shaped icon to open settings.
- After that, you are able to click on Time & Language.
- Now, you have to click on Region from Left menu and then choose United States in Countries or region list.
- Then, in settings panel simply click on personalization.
- The next step that you have to do is to click on Lock screen in the left menu.
- Please select ‘Picture’ as background from the dropdown list in the right.
- In this step, you need to go to explorer and copy and paste the path below to address bar.
C:\Users\sharma\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets.
- Please remove all the files in the folder. You do not worry as they are going to be recreated automatically.
- Afterwards, you have to search powershell in the Windows 10 search box and then right click on powerhshell icon, select run as administrator.
- You need to copy and paste the command below in the powerhsell window and hit enter to execute the command.
Get-AppxPackage -allusers *ContentDeliveryManager*|foreach {Add-AppxPackage “$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml” -DisableDevelopmentMode -register}
- You also need to search regedit in Windows 10 taskbar search and then click on the registry editor icon to open it.
- Please browse to the location below in the registry editor.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Creative.
- After that, you have to remove everything you get after expanding Creative leaving only s-1-0-0 folder.
- Please restart your computer.
- Now, you are able to go to Settings -> Personalization -> Lock screen again.
- Please choose the Windows Spotlight.
- Finally, your Lock screen is going to keep changing the Windows Spotlight pictures. It is going to take some time for files you removed in the step 8 to get created automatically.
