In Final Fantasy XIV, there are a variety of weapons that you can select. Sure, each weapon type has its own characteristics and strengths. Most weapons in Final Fantasy XIV can be obtained from any specific quests, and also come with a certain expansion.
One of the weapons that comes with Shadowbringers expansion is Resistance Weapon. This type of weapon is the level 80 Relic Weapons that was released in the patch 5.25. As we’ve mentioned, the Resistance Weapons can be obtained by completing the quests. After successfully completing the quests, you will gain job-specific weapons. Moreover, the system of quests allows you to proceed using the same class or job that they accepted the quest.
Resistance Weapon quests run parallel to the ‘Save the Queen: Blade of Gunnhildr questline.’ Before you begin completing the Resistance Weapons quests, you also need to complete the main scenario quest first called ‘Shadowbringers’. You also need to complete ‘The City of Lost Angels’ quest.
After you’ve met the prerequisites conditions, you can begin to complete the ‘Save the Queen questline with ‘Hail to the Queen’, ‘Path to the Past’, ‘The Bozja Incident,’ and ‘Fire in the Forge.’ After that, you can start completing the Resistance Weapon quests that we will show you below!
Here’s the list of Resistance Weapons quests!
Stage 1: Complete the ‘Resistance Is (Not) Futile’ Quest
Reward: Resistance Weapon (iLvl. 485)
This quest is technically not the first quest in the Resistance Weapon questline. But, you will begin again here if you select to create an additional Resistance Weapon. Instead, this can be the first stage where you should collect something.
Need to know, this quest is a repeatable version of the quest that you just completed ‘Fire in the Forge’. You have to bring four Thavnairian Scale Powder to Gerolt in Gangos to complete this quest. You can purchase this item for 250 Tomestones of Poetics from Auriana in Mor Dhona, for a total of 1,000 Poetics to complete this quest.
Stage 2: Complete the ‘For Want of a Memory’ Quest
Reward: Augmented Resistance Weapon (iLvl. 500)
Before completing this quest, you need to complete the following quests first:

- ‘Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty’ quest
- ‘Where Eagles Nest’ quest
- ‘A Sober Proposal’ quest
To receive this quest, you need to visit Zlatan in Gangos who will allow you to collect a total of 60 Memories of the Dying including 20 x Tortured, 20 x Sorrowful and 20 x Harrowing Memories of the Dying. To gain those Memories of the Dying, you need to complete FATEs in the following locations:

- Sea of Clouds, Coerthas Western Highlands (Tortured Memory of the Dying)
- Dravanian Forelands, Churning Mists (Sorrowful Memory of the Dying)
- Azys Lla, Dravanian Hinterlands (Harrowing Memory of the Dying)
Stage 3: Complete the ‘The Will to Resist’ Quest
To start completing this quest, you will have to visit Zlatan in the Gangos who will ask you to collect six Bitter Memories of the Dying. You can get them by doing the following ways:

- Complete any level 60 Dungeon
- Complete Duty Roulette: Levelling (Once per day)
- Skirmishes and Critical Engagements in the Bozjan Southern Front
Additionally, you can also get them outside of Bozja.
Stage 4: Complete the ‘Change of Arms’ Quest
Reward: Law’s Order Resistance Weapon (iLvl. 510)
Before completing this quest, you need to complete the following quests first:

- ‘A Sign of What’s to Come’ quest
- ‘Fit for a Queen’ quest
- ‘In the Queen’s Image’ quest
To start completing this quest, you need to visit Zlatan in the Gangos who will ask you to collect Loathsome Memories of the Dying by following ways:

- Labyrinth of the Ancients will give you 1 Memory
- Syrcus Tower will give you 1 Memory
- The World of Darkness will give you 1 Memory
- Critical Engagements in the Bozjan Southern Front will give you 1 memory
- Castrum Lacus Litore will give you 5 Memories
Stage 5: Complete the ‘Resistance Remembers’ Quest
To receive this quest, you need to visit Gerolt in the Gangos who will ask you to collect a total of 36 new Memories including 18 x Haunting Memories of the Dying and 18 x vexatious Memories of the Dying.
To get them, you need to complete FATEs that will give you a chance to give one Memory of the Dying. Here are the locations to get them:
Haunting Memory of the Dying

- Location 1: FATEs in: The Fringes, The Peaks and The Lochs
- Location 2: Heavensward Raids: The Void Ark, The Weeping City of Mhach and Dun Scaith
Vexatious Memory of the Dying

- Location 1: FATEs in: The Ruby Sea, Yanxia and The Azim Steppe
- Location 2: Stormblood Raids: The Royal City of Rabanastre, The Ridorana Lighthouse and The Orbonne Monastery
Stage 6: Complete ‘A New Path of Resistance’ Quest
Reward: Augmented Law’s Order Resistance Weapon (iLvl. 515)
Zlatan in the Gangos will ask you to collect a total of 15 Timeworn Artifacts that you can get once completing the following duties:

- Delubrum Reginae will give you 3 Timeworn Artifacts at the end of the dungeon.
- Palace of the Dead will give you 1 Timeworn Artifact each time you clear 10 floors.
Stage 7: Complete the ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ Quest
To start completing this quest, you need to talk to Gerolt in the Gangos who will ask you to collect a few different items. Once completing the quest, you can accept three new quests, including:

- ‘Spare Parts’
To complete this quest, you will need to speak with Zlatan in the Gangos who will ask you to collect 3o Compact Axles and 30 Compact Springs. - ‘Tell Me a Story’
To complete this quest, you will need to speak with Zlatan in the Gangos who will ask you to collect 3o copies of A Day in the Life: Battles for the Realm and 30 copies of A Day in the life: Beyond the Rift. - ‘A Fond Memory’
To complete this quest, you will need to speak with Zlatan in the Gangos who will ask you to collect 30 Bleak Memories of the Dying and 30 Lurid Memories of the Dying.
- ‘Spare Parts’
Once you complete all the quests above, you still need to complete ‘A Done Deal’ quest. This is a one-time quest which shouldn’t repeat the quests for further Resistance Weapons. To complete this quest, you need to speak with NPCs involved who will give you access to the final stage in the Resistance Weapon questline.
Stage 8: Complete the ‘Irresistible’ Quest
Reward: Blade’s Resistance Weapon (iLvl. 535)
To complete this final quest, you need to speak with Zlatan in the Gangos who will ask you to collect 15 Raw Emotions that can be obtained through the following ways:

- The Dalriada will give you 3 per clear
- Delubrum Reginae will give you 2 per clear
- Any level 70 Stormblood Dungeon will give you 1 per clear
- Heaven-on-high will give you a chance to obtain 1 every 10 floors
You may be confused to complete this quest, as there are four ways you can choose. We recommend you to avoid Heaven-on-high quest, as that’s the slowest way to complete. If you successfully complete 15 Raw Emotion, you need to give them back to Zlatan and your Resistance Weapon questline will be complete.
