There are three Grand Companies in Final Fantasy XIV that you can choose from, including The Order of the Twin Adder, The Immortal Flames, and The Maelstrom. Functionally, those companies are the same. The biggest differences for each company is in the company attire that can be great for location, PvP, glamours and titles.
Those Grand Companies are also divided into a number of ranks. Certainly, the players will be able to level up their rank by following some methods. How to Rank Up in FFXIV Grand Company?
To rank up in the Grand Company, you will have to go to your ‘Personal Officer’ and then choose ‘Apply for a Promotion’. After that, there will be a pop up box with the requirements.
There are a number of methods that you can choose to rank up in Grand Companies. Here they are:

- Through Grand Company Seals
You will gain the Grand Company Seals from performing a variety of activities. Then, you can turn them into ranks.

- Through Grand Company Hunting Log
You can also rank up in Grand Company through the Grand Company Hunting Log. You will find different ranks in Hunting Log where each rank requires you to complete one of the three portions.

There are several side quests that you can take to rank up in Grand Company. Here’s how to complete the quests to rank up in Grand Company!

- A Pup No Longer (Immortal Flames) quest
To complete this quest, you will have to talk to Berkoeya Loetahlsyn at the Wolven’s Den. You can find a swift called Ul’dah – Steps of Nald – Hall of Flames (x:8.4, y:9) which will have you begin your training in earnest. Disciples of War or Magic (Level 30) is the requirement you should meet to complete this quest.

- Like Civilized Men and Women (Immortal Flames)
To complete this quest, you will have to talk to the Free Brigade Flyer at the airship landing. You can receive this quest from Lieutenant Mimio who is looking for a few good soldiers.
A Pup No Longer (Immortal Flames) (Level 30), Pup No Longer (Maelstrom) (Level 30), A Pup No Longer (Twin Adder) (Level 30) and Disciples of War or Magic (Level 30) are the requirement you should meet to complete this quest. The reward you will get after completing this quest is The Borderland Ruins and Frontline.

- Gilding the Bilious (Immortal Flames)
To complete this quest, you will have to talk to Willielmus at the Aurum Vale. To enter the Aurum Vale, you can use the Duty Finder. After that, you can report to Swift at the Hall of Flames.
You can find the swift called Ul’dah – Steps of Nald – Hall of Flames (x:8.4, y:9) which will give you a chance to increase your standing in the Immortal Flames. Shadows Uncast (Immortal Flames and Any Class are the requirements to complete this quest. The reward you will get after completing this quest is The Aurum Vale (Level 47).

- Shadow Uncast (Immortal Flames)
To complete this quest, you will have to talk to Ophelie at Dzemael Darkhold. To enter Dzemael Darkhold, you can use the Duty Finder. After that, you can report to Swift at the Hall of Flames.
You can find the swift called Ul’dah – Steps of Nald – Hall of Flames (x:8.4, y:9) which will give you a chance to increase your standing in the Immortal Flames. The reward you will get after completing this quest is Dzemael Darkhold (Level 44).

- Let the Hunt Begin (Immortal Flames)
To complete this quest, you will have to talk to the Hunt billmaster at the Hall of Flames. You can receive this quest from Lieutenant Mimio who will intend for you to catch the fever.
Disciples of War or Magic (Level 50) is the requirement you should meet to complete this quest. The reward you will get after completing this quest is Hunt.
What Are the Ranks in Grand Companies?
With new recruits starting off with the rank of Private Third Class, Grand Companies will operate on a military ranking system. The Promotions can be obtained by paying a currency called Grand Company seals that will be rewarded from all Grand Company-related activities.
Furthermore, you have to complete quests, dungeons and missions to rank up further through completion of the Grand Company Hunting Log. By leveling up your rank, you will be able to unlock new dungeons and buy more items, as well as hold more Grand Company seals.

Why Should You Rank Up in a Grand Company?
Of course, there are some reasons why you should level up your rank in the Grand Company. Here they are:

- Get more loot items
Need to know, there will be an expanding list of items available for you if you rank up in Grand Company. The items here include armour, weapons, housing items and crafting materials. You will also gain Glamour Prisms that you can use for your cosmetics. The easiest and cheapest way to get Glamour Prisms is through Grand Company Seal.

- Get access to Squadrons
In addition to getting more items, you will also get access to Squadrons if you rank up in Grand Company. After you hit second Lieutenant, you will get access to Squadrons. Of course, there will be a lot that you can do with Squadrons including taking them with you to dungeons later on through Command Missions.
Before that, you can put your Squadron together, assist them, train and send them on missions to get experience for them and some fun stuff for you.
