Macros are user-defined automated commands which allow you to record multiple actions and also trigger them with a single button or key stroke. Here, we are going to talk about FFXIV crafting Macros for leveling.

The User Macros Window
You are able to go to System > User Macros to create your macros. You are going to notice there is an individual and a shared tab. This shared tab is for all characters you create, while the individual tab is only for the character you are currently playing. Remember that no need to rewrite all your macros when you start a new character. You are going to have 100 macros in each tab.
You will be able to click and drag a macro from this window to place a copy of it on your hotbar, which is activated like any other hotbar button. Or, you are also able to right click the macro from the user macros window and execute it. There is a button labelled ‘Text Commands’ that opens a long list of commands you are able to use to write your macros.
The right-hand side of the user macros window is where the chosen macro is displayed. You are limited to 20 characters in the name. Next to the name field is the chosen macro’s current icon. You are able to click on that to choose from a number of preset icons. The body of the macro will give you 15 lines. This will feel limiting if you get into crafting or transformation macros.
