The cheapest fish in Animal Crossing is Tadpole. The price of Tadpole is only 100 bells. Need to know that the Tadpole is a common fish that is introduced in New Leaf. The location of Tadpole is in holding ponds. When donated to the museum in New Horizons, Tadpole is located in the Pond Tank, under a lily pad on which the frog sits. The location of Tadpole makes it somewhat hard to spot, unless the players read the museum display card to pan the camera over to where Tadpoles are. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Tadpole is located in a cylindrical tank in the River Exhibit separate from the frog.
Tadpoles are the larval stage of the frogs and toads. During the stage of Tadpole, most Tadpoles respire through autonomous external or internal gills. Usually, they do not have arms or legs until the transition to adulthood. And usually they have a large, flattened tail with that they swim by lateral undulation, similar to most fish. Typically Tadpoles will not eat during the later stages of their metamorphosis. The hind legs appear first, and the front legs appear second. Their gills shrink away, and they are going to start to breathe air. When their tails get absorbed into their bodies, tadpoles become froglets or toadlets when they leave the water.
