According to the Gaming Section site, you are not able to bring any items back with you from the Dream town except for custom designs. Nevertheless, in the Dream town, you are able to enter other players’ houses and villagers’ houses. It is also explained that you are not able to catalog items in the dream island. When you are dreaming, you are able to get items but you will find that those items will not be stored in your catalog.
On the Animal Crossing Wiki, it is explained that when a dream is being visited, Luna will hold onto the player’s Inventory belongings for the duration of the dream. Let’s say that the player takes anything from another island. If so, it will not show up in their inventory when they wake up. When they are dreaming, they are also not able to learn DIY recipes, catalog items and many more. However, diving and swimming can be accessed as long as the visitor wears a wetsuit when they are going to bed.

- You are allowed to save shared custom designs.
- You are allowed to view Bulletin Board posts by players.
- You are allowed to use the Rescue Service.
- You are allowed to report Dreams.
- You are allowed to register Dream Islands to your Favorites.
- You are allowed to visit random Dream islands.
On the dream islands, you are allowed to explore the islands without worrying to affect the island.
The Things You Cannot Do in Dream Islands

- You are not allowed to craft items and learn recipes.
- You are not allowed to catalog furniture.
- You are allowed to catch creatures, but only in the dream.
- All items that you get in the dream island will go away.
How to Dream in Animal Crossing New Horizons
If you dream in the Animal Crossing New Horizons, you are able to visit other players’ islands. However, you are not able to wear a Transformation aka Wand Outfit. If you want to visit other players’ islands in your dream, you must have a dream address code. Players are able to share this code and make it public on their passport.
According to the IGN site, here are the steps that you have to take to dream in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
- The first thing that you have to do is to lay down on a bed in your house.
- After that, the thing that you have to do is to choose the ‘I want to sleep’ option.
- Then, you need to choose ‘I want to dream’.
- You have to make sure that you have to connect to the internet.
- In this step, you have to enter the Dream Address code.
- And now, you are able to explore the island.
Sharing a Dream in Animal Crossing New Horizons
According to the Animal Crossing wiki, an active Nintendo Switch Online membership is needed if you want to share a dream of an island. A copy of the current state of the player’s island will be captured by Luna and those include building and house interiors, bulletin board messages, outdoors, the presence of the campsite tent and the player’ name and passport. In the real island in the Animal Crossing New Horizons, you may be able to find Redd’s trawler. However, in the dream island, you will never find Redd’s trawler even though he was docked at the time of upload.
It is also important for you to note that as explained on the Animal Crossing wiki that islands are able to be uploaded once per day with the exact time and weather present from when the island was uploaded by the player. There is a specific address for each island where the progress of the player is able to be saved accordingly for anyone who wants to visit if a player makes a decision to change their island. The address of the player’s island can be private or public on their passport so that they can choose whether to make it public or not. If they make it public, it means that they are ready for their island to be visited by other players.
The Existence of Dream Feature in Animal Crossing New Horizons
According to the Animal Crossing wiki, with the Dream feature in New Horizons, you can upload and share dreams of your island to the internet. Besides, you can also visit other players’ dream islands by using a specific Dream address. So, this feature is the same as the Dream Suite in New Leaf.
You are able to activate this feature by lying down on a bed inside your house. Then, you will see Luna in your dream state after you choose the option “Yeah, I want to sleep.” When you are dreaming, you are not able to make an effect on the actual island that you are dreaming about.
