The Steps to Grow Bushes
Do you want to grow a shrub on your island in Animal Crossing New Horizon? By planting bushes, it can make your island beautiful because the bushes that you plant will bloom in certain periods as explained above. To grow bushes in Animal Crossing New Horizon, you have to follow the steps below.

- First, before you plant, you have to buy the shrub starts from Leif.
- After you buy the shrub starts, you must choose an area in the grass where you want to grow your shrub. Note that shrubs need soil to grow. It means that you cannot plant them on the beach. Actually, you can plant it on the beach, but it will not grow.
- Here, dig a hole by using a shovel. Actually, you must not dig a hole. However, if you dig it, it will help you to specify where you want to plant your shrubs.
- In this step, you must choose the shrub start from your inventory.
- After you choose the shrub, then you must press A button to choose “Plant 1”.
- These steps must be done by you until all of your shrub starts have been planted.
About Bushes
In the Animal Crossing, bushes are a type of plant. For the first time, bushes appeared in Animal Forest and then it came back in a new fashion New Leaf and in New Horizons. In the Nintendo GameCube, these plants are low-growing plants and players can walk through them. However, in Nea Leaf and in New Horizon, bushes are a solid object so that players cannot walk through them. In Wild World and City Folk, bushes were not present.
In New Horizons, bushes were added in the Earth Day update (1.2.0). In this game, Leif sells them at his traveling stall. The shrub starts can be bought for 280 Bells. If you want to plant shrubs, you can buy bush starts from Leif first. You can stack starts for planting from inventory. You can buy individual starts or buy stacks of five from Leif.
