Grotesque Guardians are a Gargoyle boss in OSRS. It is the lowest-level Slayer boss in the game. As it occurs with lots of bosses in OSRS, most Guardians have a few strengths and weaknesses. But, the Grotesque Guardian is a solid mid-level boss fight for you.

For note: To fight any Gargoyle in the game of OSRS, you must be level 75 Slayer or more. But, you are able to use a pie to boost your Slayer when battling regular gargoyles.
How to fight it?
To start the fight, you have to ring the Cloister Bell in the north side of the roof. This is going to trigger the Guardians awaken, and then the fight will start. If you have killed the Guardians more than five times, then the Cloister Bell will have a “Quick-start” choice, that will skip the cutscene and start the fight directly. Try to ring the bell again before the fight is over. It will yield the message Concentrate on your fight.
In the beginning of the fight, you have to attack Dawn with Ranged attacks. Need to know that she cannot be harmed with Melee and is resistant to Magic as Dusk cannot be harmed during this phase of the fight. After her health has reached half, she will fly away, and you have to attack Dusk.
During this phase, the wings of Dusk may glow, and will do an explosive attack. If you do not run away from him when he does so, you are going to be dealt 30+ damage and be knocked back. Aside from that, debris may fall around the roof, that can deal up to 22 damage and make you for a brief period of time. After his health has reached half, Dawn will return and do a lightning special attack with Dusk which has an AoE of 3×3, quickly dealing up to 5-10 damage per tick.
After the lightning attacks, Dawn is going to send out two/ three energy spheres which will grow larger over time. You have to absorb these spheres, taking two damage if absorbed immediately, and deal up to 10 or 20 damage if you absorb them later. If you ignore them entirely, each sphere will be able to heal Dawn for 90 Hitpoints.
After you kill Dawn, Dusk is going to absorb her essence, and initiate the final phase of the fight. Now, he is stronger, can utilize melee and ranged attacks, and also drag you to a prison of purple flames. In this case, you have to escape the prison (by clicking anywhere outside it), or they are going to be dealt 60+ damage, which heals Dusk.
Weapons
In regards to the weapons, the best Melee weapon is the Scythe of Vitur. However, it is an expensive weapon. Most players do not have access to it. When using Ranged weapons, the best option for you is the Blowpipe. However, if you do not have access to a Blowpipe, a great alternative is the Rune Crossbow.
Helmet
You have to be on a Gargoyle Task to battle the Gargoyle Boss. Thus, you should wear the Slayer Helm for ultimate damage and better stats. If you cannot unlock the Slayer Helm for some reasons, you are able to use a Black Mask. Whether you use the Slayer Helm or the Black Helm, it is very recommended to imbue your headgear of choice at the Nightmare Zone. If you do this, it will give you a boost on both Melee and Range. If you do not do this, the headgear will just improve your Melee level.
Cape
In the Melee Cape slot, you are able to equip the Infernal Cape because it is the best choice in OSRS. The Fire Cape is going to be the second-best option. Some of you prefer to use Ava’s Assembler as it can improve your Ranged stats, and also it is undoubtedly the best option for Ranged Attacks. If you have not unlocked Ava’s Assembler, so you are able to resort to using Ava’s Accumulator. Even though it is not as resourceful as the previous items, it will help you in certain conditions.
Amulet
When attacking regarding amulets, the choices will depend on what type of attack you want to favor in the battle, melee, or ranged. If you prioritize Melee attacks, the best options are the Amulet of Torture or the Amulet of Fury. While if you want to improve your Ranged Attacks, the best option is the Necklace of Anguish.
Ammo
In the Ammo slot, it will depend on the weapon you are using. You have to bring a Blessing if you plan on attacking with a Blowpipe so you are able to have some extra Prayer bonus. But, if you are using a Rune Crossbow, it is better to equip Diamond Bolts. Aside from that, you are able to enchant them to increase your Ranged attack. Some other players prefer Ruby bolts, however the extra space is not really worth it when fighting Gargoyle Boss.
Shield
In Shield slot, the Inverted Defender will be the best. If it is not possible, the Dragon Defender will be a formidable second choice. You do not require to use a shield if you are using a Blowipipe. However, it is good to use a Twisted Blucker when equipping the Rune Crossbow.
