Mushrooms are an autumn seasonal crafting material in ACNH (Animal Crossing: New Horizons). Well, let us learn how to get Mushrooms in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Here we also share other information related to Mushrooms.
How to Get Mushrooms in ACNH?
To get Mushrooms in ACNH (Animal Crossing: New Horizons), you have to play during the month of May in the Southern Hemisphere. Or you are also able to play during the month of November in the Northern Hemisphere.
Actually, there are no specific dates beyond that because you are able to find Mushrooms throughout the entire month. Also, Maple Leaves are available for a period of ten days towards the end of the month. It offers a completely separate set of Maple Leaf DIY Crafting recipes.
You are able to find five different types of Mushroom items to hunt down during the month. They are found in different locations depending on the type.

Getting Mushrooms outside November/May
As we know, Mushrooms usually appear naturally on the ground, or buried underground during May in the Southern Hemisphere and during November in the Northern Hemisphere. However, you are still able to visit other player islands who have Mushrooms if your own island is not in the season. For example, if you are playing in the Northern Hemisphere when it is late spring in May, then you are able to get Mushrooms from a friend who is playing in the Southern Hemisphere.
Also, the Mushroom crafting materials are able to be kept in your house storage or other places like any other item. Thus, you may be able to trade with players online outside of the season who have already stockpiled the resource. Fortunately, it is always possible to time travel to a date where the crafting material is in season if you have already explored all other options.
You may want to time travel to the following dates to get Mushrooms:
-
- November 1st – 30th in the Northern Hemisphere
- May 1st – 31st in the Southern Hemisphere
Where to Find Flat, Round, Skinny and Elegant Mushrooms?
You are able to find Flat, Round, Skinny and Elegant Mushrooms spawned on the ground during the season near cedar trees and regular trees. Each day at 5AM local time on your island, a fresh new batch of Mushrooms are going to appear around your trees. For your information, the rarest and most valuable Mushroom is the Elegant Mushroom that sells for 10,000 Bells each. You should pick up these Mushrooms only for selling purposes, even if you have already owned the crafted items.
Where to Find Rare Mushrooms?
Unlike other types of Mushrooms that can be discovered obviously on the ground near your trees, the Rare Mushrooms are hidden out of sight. You will be able to find them buried in the ground around the trees marked by X star spots, like Fossils. If you find one, simply you are able to take out your Shovel and dig it up.
We get information that having a 5 Star Island rating with Isabelle at Resident Services will be able to increase your opportunity of finding Rare Mushrooms on your island, but that is unconfirmed. Thus, they are able to be found on islands definitely less than 5 Stars too.
Actually, Rare Mushrooms are not really crucial for crafting items. There is only a single DIY Crafting Recipe (Forest Flooring) which uses Rare Mushrooms, and only one Rare Mushroom is needed to craft the Forest Flooring. For note: The sale price of Rare Mushroom is 16,000 Bells.
