How to Get More Lollipops in ACNH

In the game called Animal Crossing New Horizons or ACNH, Lollipops are known as items to collect on Halloween night that happens on October 31st. For those who are not familiar with Lollipops, they are a new feature that was introduced in the Version 1.5 Fall Halloween Update for Animal Crossing New Horizons (ACNH) and needs a fully updated game to experience.

How do you get Lollipops? If you are thinking that you are able to get Lollipops from Nook’s Cranny or any other shop just like Candy, then you are incorrect because they are not available there. Different from Candy, Lollipops are a special event item, meaning they are items that are able to be obtained only by participating in an event. What is the event where Lollipops are available to be obtained?

The name of the event has actually been mentioned before, which is the Halloween event. This one starts from 5PM to midnight. When it starts, there will be a few changes, including:

    • The music with the Halloween theme will start to play with a spookier vibe in the sky.
    • Jack will show up outside on your island that is close to Resident Services.
    • Some villagers will put on a dress while some others will roam outdoors asking for candy or go to their places for the evening to give candy.

If you want to get Lollipops, you only have an option to do, which is to give Candy to the villagers on your island during the Halloween event. Apart from that, there is no other way that you can do as they are not available in Nook’s Cranny to be purchased, unlike Candy.

How to Get More Lollipops in ACNH

When you see the villagers on your island roaming outdoors, approach them and ask them to play trick or treat with you. By following the step, you will have a chance to get Lollipops in exchange for giving a Candy. However, the things that will be given by the villagers vary and they are not all Lollipops. Basically, when you play trick or trick with a villager and you give that villager a Candy, you will definitely get an item as a gift but it is not limited to Lollipops and it is random. It could be a Halloween item that is included in the Spooky Set or a recipe. It means it is possible for you to not get Lollipops at the first try. If this kind of case happens, you are encouraged to make the second attempt and so on. According to the experience shared by some players, villagers will hand out Lollipops about 25% of the time. The chance is actually high so please keep trying and give more Candy if you still do not get Lollipops yet.

Apparently, you will not be allowed by the villager to immediately play trick or treat again when you failed on the first attempt. The good news is that there is a way to handle it. The first thing that you have to do is to enter and leave a nearby building, which can be your house or Resident Services, to reset the ability of a villager to accept more Candy from you. Then, play trick or treat with the villager again and give them a piece of Candy for a chance to get Lollipops. The same trick is able to be used if you want to get more Lollipops. Feel free to do it again and again all night long during the Halloween event and get a chance of getting Lollipops and the other items as rewards.

If you have no idea about the other items that are given by the villagers, here is the list of them:

    • Spooky flooring: To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Spooky garland: To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Spooky garland (DIY recipe): To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Spooky rug: To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Spooky table setting: To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Spooky table setting (DIY recipe): To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Spooky wall: To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.
    • Scare reaction: To be able to get this item, you will have to give the candy to the villagers.

As getting Lollipops and any other rewards require Candy, it also means you will need a good stock of Candy if you want to get more Lollipops during Halloween. In case you run out of Candy, fortunately, you are still able to get more even when the Halloween event is on-going. To do that, you should get a scary costume and wear it and then visit a villager inside their home. Keep in mind that it can be repeated every 5 minutes or so. If there is no scary costume in your place, you are suggested to meet Jack and give him a Candy so that you can get Jack’s Robe and Jack’s Face in exchange for the Candy.

    • Jack’s face: If you want to get this item, you will have to give the first piece of candy to Jack.
    • Jack’s robe: If you want to get this item, you will have to give the second piece of candy to Jack.

After getting these two items from Jack, you will be able to wear all of them to hunt some Candy from the villagers. Once you manage to collect a good amount of Candy, you will be able to look for villagers again to play trick or treat with you for a chance of Lollipops. When you have a lot of Lollipops in your hand, you will be able to use them as treats given to Jack. Besides, there are also some other minor uses.
