What Is The Winter Contingency in Halo Infinite?
Same as the Fracture: Tenrai event in Halo Infinite, the Winter Contingency event is also an in-game event which is free and all players can take part in it. In the Winter Contingency event, the theme will be the holiday season and winter. So, in this event, you are able to get various rewards in the holiday theme including armor coatings which have festive colors such as peppermint, white, red, pink, light green and more.
Not only that, you are also able to get new player emblems, weapon charms and other cosmetics. 343 Industries gives an explanation that players have a chance to obtain a lot of these rewards by playing one match per day during the event.
It is important for you to note that, as explained on the Windows Central site, even though the Winter Contingency event is the same as Fracture events, the developers have said that the event is not the same scope/ magnitude as them. The meaning is that you should not expect a lot of rewards and there is not any new content which can be played which is being offered.
When Does Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Event Take Place?
The Winter Contingency event in Halo Infinite was launched on December 21st, 2021. This event will take place until January 3rd, 2022. It means that you have two weeks to be able to get various rewards in holiday-themed such as armor and weapon coatings which are inspired by all things festive from Rudolph to snowflakes as explained on Clutch Points. For your information, at 9 am PT/ 12 pm ET, the Winter Contingency update was released.
The Rewards To Get in Winter Contingency Event in Halo Infinite
If you participate in the Winter Contingency event in Halo Infinite, you are able to get free rewards. The thing that you have to do is just to complete the challenge to get the special items. In most cases, as explained on the Clutch Points site, it will ask you to play one game daily. It means that it will be easy for you to collect the festive cosmetics.

Is There New Content in the Winter Contingency in Halo Infinite?
According to the Windows Central site, the addition of Fiesta during the Fracture: Tenrai event suggested that Halo free events in Halo Infinite will include a new form of content which can be played. However, in the Winter Contingency, it seems that there is no new form of content which is playable because the developers made a statement that it will not be as large as Fracture: Tenrai and because it seems that there is no new content in the game which appears.

The first thing that you may want to know is about the gameplay. Same as past Halo games, most gameplay in Halo Infinite happens from a first person perspective.
