In Animal Crossing New Horizons, Flick is known as a special visitor. The boy is actually a new addition to the series and for those who are looking for the way to make a lot of money to build up your island, he is the right one that you should be on the lookout for. Your bugs will be purchased at a higher price than what you can get at Nook’s Cranny, so it is good to save up some critters for when he arrives.
When does Flick show up in Animal Crossing New Horizon?
Flicks will visit at random time, meaning there is no special way to get him to show up to your island. In this case, all that you need to do is to be on the lookout for him every day. Due to his appearance (bright red chameleon in the black leather vest), it is hard for you to miss him. Even though his visits are unfortunately random, he will be on your island for about 24 hours, starting from 5 AM to 5 AM, so there is nothing to worry as you will have plenty of time to track him down.
However, Flick will not just show up for random visits. He will be there to host the competition of Animal Crossing New Horizons called Bug Off. He is the replacement of Nat from City Folk and New Leaf. If you want to know more about the Bug Off competition, the information is available below.
Selling bugs to Flick
Your bugs will be bought by Flick for 150% their market value during both his random visits and the Bug Off competition. For instance, you will get 12,000 Bells for tarantulas instead of the usual 8,000 Bells. If those annoying water ruins tarantula farming, you will get 3,000 Bells instead of the usual 2,000 Bells. On top of that, the less rare bugs such as butterflies or locusts, the Bells can add up if you save your catches for the visit of Flick, so it is able to be worth the time it takes waiting around for him to arrive.
Bug models from Flick
Flick will not only buy your bugs but will also trade you bug models. In order to commission a bug model, you will need to hand him three of the same bug. All that you need to do is to talk to him and choose Tell me about your art instead of selling him bugs. This trading process will get you one model of the bug that you want, which will be delivered by mail in a day. You can place the models as decorative furniture or sell them for Bells. Everything is worth three times the value of whatever bug they are modeled after, which makes sense, as they cost three of that bug to produce.
