The Information About Class Action Lawsuit of Fortnite
The players of Fortnite and Rocket League will get up to $50 or in-game credits because of a $26.5 million settlement. It is done to resolve an Epic Games class action lawsuit. Epic Games was accused by the Epic Games class action lawsuit for violating consumer protection laws where they misrepresent the value of items in Fortnite and Rocket League and also prevent minors from using contractual disaffirmations rights.
Then, who are the eligible class members? Those are people in the United States who had a Fortnite or Rocket League account that they used to play game on any device in any mode and exchanged virtual currency in the game for a benefit in the game or who bought virtual currency or other benefits in the game for use in Fortnite or Rocket League at any point between July 1, 2015 and the date of preliminary approval.
For class members who filled valid claims will be able to get up to $50 or 1,000 Fortnite V-Bucks or Rocket League credits. Automatically, the accounts of US players who bought a random item loot box will be deposited by Epic Games. Besides these credits, for players who are sure that they were harmed by their Fortnite and Rocket League purchases, they will be able to file a claim up to $50 in cash or 13,500 Fortnite V-Bucks or Rocket League credits. They can get it if they also meet certain criteria.
What kind of harm? The harm is like consumer fraud, breach of contract or the other damages according to the website of settlement. Do you want to claim as well? As a Fortnite player, you are also able to file a claim if you want to get a partial refund for a real money purchase of virtual currency or other Fortnite or Rocket League items. You can do that if the purchase was created if you are a minor with your own money without the permission of your parents. If you want to submit a claim for a partial refund, you do not have to demonstrate any additional harm or damages. However, you have to reveal the Epic Games accounts which are opened by the minor.
All allegations of wrongdoing have been denied by Epic Games. The court has not revealed a ruling against the company in this case. There is information that a final approval hearing will be scheduled for May 6th, 2021. So, consumers have the deadline to deny or exclude themselves from this settlement on April 12th, 2021. How about the deadline to file a claim? It is on April 26th, 2021.
The Eligible Ones
Who are the eligible players that can get these benefits? As explained above that the eligible ones are the players in the United States who were between July 1st, 2015 and the date of preliminary approval had a Fortnite or Rocket League account that they used to:

- play game on any device in any mode
- exchanged in game virtual currency fo a benefit in the game
- or who bought virtual currency or other benefits for use in Fortnite or Rocket League.
The Potential Reward to Get by Players
As also explained above that the reward is up to $50 or 13,500 virtual credits. Automatically, Epic will deposit 1,000 V-Bucks or 1,000 Rocket League credits into the accounts of US players who bought a random item loot box.
Besides, if there are players who are sure that they were harmed by their Fortnite or Rocket League purchases such as consumer fraud, breach of contract or other damages, and then they meet certain criteria, they may be able to file a claim up to $50 in cash or 13,500 Fortnite V-Bucks or Rocket League credits.
As a Fortnite players or Rocket League players, you are also able to file a claim if you want to get a partial refund for a real money purchase of virtual currency or other in-game Fortnite or Rocket League items if the purchase was made by a minor with their own money without having permissions from parents.
The Proof of Purchase
The proof is a documentation such as a picture, a screen shot or document which obviously shows the items or products that were bought, the total amount paid, the timestamp and the order/ invoice/ confirmation identifier. Those things must be provided with your claim if you made the real money purchase from a source other than Epic Games. Also, the documentation must be provided by you if you made the purchase from Epic Games, but you are not able to provide the date of purchase.
It is important for you to know that files for online filing must be in the formats of jpeg, jpg, gif, png, tif, tiff, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf, txt, rtf or zip. Also, the files do not larger than 20 MB.
