In the game known as Animal Crossing New Horizons or ACNH, Stringfish is known as one of the most difficult fish to find. What makes it one of the most difficult fish to find in the game is the fact that it only shows up for months out of a total of 12 months in a year. Here is the spawn period of this fish:
-
- Northern Hemisphere: January, February, March, December
- Southern Hemisphere: June, July, August, September
As Stringfish is not the kind of fish that is available every day, it is important to know the best time to catch one in the game. Once again, it is only caught in the game between December and March in the North Hemisphere and in between June to September in the South Hemisphere. As for the time, the best one is at 4 PM to 9 AM (in local time).
After knowing the best time to catch a Stringfish in Animal Crossing New Horizons, it is time for you to know how to catch one. If you have no idea how to do so, feel free to follow these following instructions:
-
- The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you have a fishing rod in your arsenal. It is really important.
- To make the chances of catching one increasing, you will need to get some Fish Bait in your hand. This kind of thing is able to be crafted using a Manilla Clam. To find these clams, you will need to go to the beach. When you walk up and down the sand, you will be able to see little spurts of water. Upon seeing it, dig up to get a clam by using a shovel. Keep in mind that one clam can be used only to craft one bait.
- When you are during the months of this fish active in your hemisphere and when the time shows anytime between 4 PM to 9 PM, go to the clifftop river of your island. In order to get there, you are recommended to use a ladder that you get once you have built the museum and it is given by Tom Nook in the mission to build three houses for new residents. You can tell that you are there when a waterfall is seen below you.
- When you are there, you should find a huge shadow in the water and proceed to catch the fish just like you usually do for any fish. Please throw the bait in the water to attract the fish and then cast your line in front of the shadow that shows up.
- Once you have successfully caught one Stringfish, there should be a dialog box saying “OH MY GOSH! I caught a stringfish! Five more and I’ll have a guitarfish!”.
