Are you preparing to fight against the dangerous monsters in the OSRS or Old School RuneScape game called Skeletal Wyvern? If you want to successfully win against them, here is the guide for you if using melee.
Before anything, there are some requirements to meet to deal against Skeletal Wyvern. First, you need to have a Slayer level of 72. If it is not enough, feel free to boost it from level 67 Slayer by eating a wild pie. Second, you have to complete the Elemental Workshop I and II to access the elemental or mind shield respectively. The protection is offered by this shield. It is so good at protection from the icy breath attack of the Skeletal Wyvern. Some other options that can be used are dragonfire shield, ancient wyvern shield, and dragonfire ward. All of them offer the same protection and all require to have started Dragon Slayer I.
If using melee, you will have to be:
- Level 75 Attack of higher
- Level 75 Strength or higher
- Level 70 Hitpoints of higher
- Level 70 Prayer or higher for the Piety prayer
It is said that Skeletal Wyverns attack with melee, ranged, and the unique ice breath attack. The melee one is only used when you as the player are standing in the melee distance and are able to hit a maximum of 13.
When talking about the equipment, the best in slot available equipment for fighting Skeletal Wyvern includes:
- Neitiznot faceguard: This one is the newest version of the helm of Neitiznot.
- Amulet of torture: This one is an enchanted version of zenyte amulet.
- Infernal cape: This one is the superior version of the fire cape that is normally awarded for completing the Inferno.
- Rada’s blessing 4: This one is the achievement diary. It is the reward of the elite Kourend & Kebos Diary tasks.
- Dragon hunter lance: This one is made by using a hydra claw on a Zamorakian hasta.
- Inquisitor’s hauberk: This one is dropped from The Nightmare.
- Dragonfire shield: This one is the upgraded version of the anti-dragon shield and it is named as one of the best that the game has, only behind the Elysian spirit shield and Dinh’s bulwark. S
- Inquisitor’s plateskirt: This one is also dropped from The Nightmare.
- Ferocious gloves: These are the gloves that focus on melee. The pair is dropped from the Alchemical Hydra.
- Primordial boots: these are the boots that need level 75 Strength and Defense to wear. They give the highest strength bonus compared to any boots in the game.
- Berserker ring (i): This one is the imbued version of the berserker ring. It is really popular because there are only a total of two rings with strength bonus and it is named as the best in slot strength bonus.
