According to some sources, the blue Axolotls are the rarest type of Axolotl in Minecraft. Just like other Axolotls, the blue Axolotls will not spawn naturally. Of course, getting the blue Axolotls can be a complicated thing to do.

The only one way to get blue Axolotls is by breeding two Axolotls. When two Axolotls are bred, there will be a 0.083% (1/1200) chance of spawning blue Axolotl. One Axolotl has the color blue, out of 1200 baby axolotls.

If you see an Axolotls that appears with a blue body, blue trim and orange fins near its face, it can be certain that they are rarest Axolotls. The blue Axolotl will have a spawn rate of .8%, making it harder to find.

Furthermore, finding one rare Axolotl in the wild can be time-consuming, however breeding can speed up the process and the spawn rate remains .8%.

How to Get Rarest Axolotl?

The Blue Axolotls, as rarets Axolotls, is really hard to find in the wild. Alternatively, you may need to breed it in order to get blue Axolotl. However, the real problem is in the way of getting the blue Axolotls.

If you’ve successfully found blue Axolotls, you can breed them to obtain exotic blue Axolotls. Need to know, breeding Axolotls 1200 times to obtain a single blue axolotl is no joke, meaning that’s very hard to do.

In order to breed them so many times, you will need many buckets of tropical fish to feed Axolotls. You can also find tropical fish in lukewarm ocean biomes and the warm ocean. It’s highly recommended for you to bring shulker boxes or breed Axolotls near those biomes, as buckets of tropical fish cannot be stacked.

Once obtaining tropical fish, you will need to find Axolotls in Minecraft. You can either create a spawning area for them or look for Axolotls in caves. For more information, Axolotls will spawn in the water below height level 63 in complete darkness. For Java Edition players, they may need a stone floor to spawn axolotls.

By doing so, you will find some Axolotls and breed them to get more. You may need to wait five minutes to breed them again. However, it’s so better for you to have many Axolotls when attempting to obtain a blue Axolotls.

How to Breed the Axolotls

The way to breed Axolotls for each rarity is the same, so as with Blue Axolotl, the rarest Axolotls in Minecraft. Breeding the Axolotls is such an alternative way when you cannot get or tame them in the wild.

To obtain two Axolotls to breen, you may have to obtain them near each other. You can also feed each of them a bucket of tropical fish to obtain them to enter ‘Love Mode’. They will then breed with one another to producing a baby Axolotl. This breeding process is the same process by which you can breed a lot of other animals, such as Foxes.

After a baby Axolotl grows, it will follow their parents until fully grown. It actually happens 20 minutes after birth. Certainly, you can speed up the journey to adulthood by feeding the baby more buckets of tropical fish.

To help you get both Axolotls in the same place that are ready for breeding,  you can approach an Axolotl and lead it in a direction while holding a bucket of tropical fish in your hand. So, it will ease you to let them breed.

After breeding, a baby Axolotl will spawn. Then, 1-7 experiences will be generated. In Bedrock Edition, the adult Axolotls that have bred cannot breed again for 5 minutes , while in Java Edition, the adult Axolotls cannot be bred for 5 minutes.

In the breeding process, the baby Axolotl will have a 1/1200 chance to be the blue axolotl. However, it can inherit the color of one parent randomly. The growth of baby Axolotls can be accelerated with buckets of tropical fish in which each usage will decrease the remaining growing time by 10%.
