What Is a Blueprint?
We have definitions of blueprint that we took from some sources. According to Vocabulary site, a blueprint can be defined as a guide for making something, it is a design or pattern that can be followed. And the literal meaning of a blueprint is a paper which is blue and on it there are plans for a building.
According to Wikipedia, a blueprint can be defined as a reproduction of a technical drawing or engineering drawing which uses a contact print process on a light-sensitive sheet. Sir John Herschel introduced it in 1842. The process permitted fast and accurate production of an unlimited number of copies. For more than a century, it was used for the reproduction of specification drawings which were used in industry and construction. Now, the term blueprint is used less formally to refer to any floor plan and even any type of plan. Usually, practicing engineers, drafters and architects just call it as Prints or Drawings.
