In Old School RunScape (OSRS), Gargoyles are slayer monsters. You are able to find them in the Slayer Tower’s top floor and basement. Now, the thing that you need to know is about their weakness. Gargoyle’s Weakness

As explained in Old School RunScape Wiki, Gargoyles are weak to crush. Crush is an attack type which is used mainly by weapons such as maces, mauls and warhammers and by weapons like two handed swords and battleaxes.

Since Gargoyles are weak to crush, so you are able to defeat them by using Abyssal bludgeon. This weapon is the best weapon for defeating this monster. The abyssal bludgeon is a crush weapon which is two handed. It is created by having The Overseer combine three untradeable components including bludgeon spine, bludgeon claw and bludgeon axon.

About Gargoyles

Gargoyles in Old School RunSpace (OSRS) are Slayer monsters which can be found in the Slayer Tower’s top floor and basement. You are able to safespot Gargoyles near the doorway in the south-west area at the top floor in Slayer Tower or in the north-east corner of the basement behind an immovable bucket on the floor. It is important for you to know that gargoyles on the top floor of the tower can be found after aberrant spectres, who drain players’ stats if they are not wearing a Slayer helmet or nose peg. You are able to avoid them by using the Agility shortcut in the north-east from the first floor to the second floor even though this route takes longer.

To harm them, you need 75 Slayers. Gargoyles which can be found in the basements are only available to you if you are assigned gargoyles as your Slayer task. If you try to kill them off-task, there will be Raulyn which will prevent you from attacking.

You are not able to kill Gargoyles normally. To kill them, you have to use a rock hammer, a rock thrownhammer or a granite hammer when reaching 8 or lower Hitpoints. Normally, you must use the item on the gargoyle, but you are able to buy the Gargoyle Smasher perk from Slayer masters for 120 Slayer points. It will automatically smash the gargoyle when it falls to 9 or lower Hitpoints as long as the player has a rock hammer or the same kind as it in their inventory. Automatically, gargoyles will be smashed by the granite hammer without the perk if it is equipped.

It is recommended for you to bring High Level Alchemy runes due to the number of rune item drops. High Level Alchemy runes will be used to reduce the frequency of banking and have inventory space.

Once again that gargoyles which are located in the Slayer Tower Basement can only be attacked when you are on a slayer task.

For your information, the ‘nothing’ drop is removed when wearing a ring of wealth. The drop rate is increased when wearing a ring of wealth because of the ‘nothing’ drop being removed. The talisman dropped depends on the location of the monster. If the monsters are above ground level, they will drop the nature talisman. However, if the monsters are below ground level, they will drop the chaos talisman.

Brimstone keys are only dropped if the monsters are killed on a Slayer task which is given by Konar quo Maten. Then, Brittle keys are only dropped if you have not unlocked the roof access, do not have one in your bank or inventory and have gargoyles as your current Slayer task.
