Who is Kapp’n?
Kapp’n is a kappa, a mythical turtle-like Japanese folktale monster, recognized for operating different ways of transport. In previous Animal Crossing games, he has driven buses and taxis. But, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, he is returned to his sailing roots.
From your island’s dock, he is going to lead you to mysterious islands. Need to know that Kapp’n’s Boat Tours cost 1,000 Nook Miles per trip. He is going to sing you a sweet song on the way. As a player, you are only allowed one boat ride per day.
What Are Kapp’n Boat Tours in Animal Crossing?
Kapp’n Boat Tours will offer a new way to find unique and mysterious islands from far in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is different from the mystery islands that Dodo Airline have been able to take since launch. Those new mysterious islands are going to offer new special items which cannot be found on your own home island, like new kinds of flora such as vines and bushes. We think that there might be new kinds of fruits too, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Aside from that, Kapp’n is able to take you to islands that have a different weather than your home island. For instance, when your date is set to July in the Northern Hemisphere, you may be able to visit an island which is in Winter allowing you to catch different fish or bugs. In fact, those out-of-season islands are able to feature special seasonal materials like the Snowflakes, or the items from a different time of day like wishing for Star Fragments.
Kapp’n’s Islands ACNH Map – How to Take Kapp’n Boat Tours and Visit Islands?
You are able to take a boat tour with Kapp’n in ACNH by visiting your island’s Pier in the bottom left or bottom right of the map, depending on the layout. Simply, you are able to walk up to Kapp’n on the Pier. He is going to ask you for a small fee of 1,000 Nook Miles currency per round-trip to a mysterious island. You do not need to buy Nook Miles Tickets for Kapp’n. Keep in mind that you are only able to set sail with Kapp’n for a mystery island once per in-game day. Of course, impatient players are able to time travel to get ahead if they want.

Vines are an extremely useful new type of item. It can be found on Kapp’n Islands and also can be placed on your island’s cliffs to climb up them, basically as a makeshift ladder which looks much cooler. Glowing Moss is very perfect for night-time decoration. It is a new type of plant that can be discovered on Kapp’n Islands. Unlike other plants, this plant will feature a subtle glow during the evening, creating a nice night-time effect. Similar to Vines, there are new DIY Recipes in Version 2.0 which need Glowing Moss as a crafting material to make the items. - Plumeria Bushes

Kapp’n Boat Tour Islands
There are lots of mysterious islands that you are able to visit by taking a Kapp’n Boat Tour in the Animal Crossing New Horizons Version 2.0. We are beginning to research all of them.
