How to Install Mods in Minecraft Dungeons

In Minecraft Dungeon, mod is such an important thing for players, as it allows them to have tons of modded items within the game. In other words, mod is such the fastest and easiest way to get any items that you may desire in the game.  It does not wonder if every Minecraft Dungeon player is looking for the mod that will help them in the game.

There are a number of mods for Minecraft Dungeon. Sure, each mod will provide different items within. So, make sure to look for the mod as your needs. For instance, if you want to have more weapons in the game, of course you need to find the Mod with weapons listed.

How to Install Mods in Minecraft Dungeons

Installing Minecraft Dungeons Mods, Here’s How!

After you find the Minecraft Dungeon mod as you want, you can then start to install it. Unfortunately, you cannot add the mods to the console editions of Minecraft Dungeons and Windows 10. However, both the Pocket Edition and the Java Edition actually support mods.

Here, we will show you a guide of how to add mods to Minecraft Dungeons on both desktops. Here are for the ways:

Way 1: Install Mods on The Launcher Version

    • First, press Win + R.
    • Then, enter ‘%localappdata%\Mojang\products\dungeons\dungeons\Dungeons\Content\Paks’ and then click on the ‘Ok’ button.
    • You should create a new folder called ‘mods’ .
    • After that, place your mods in this folder.
    • Here, you need to run the Minecraft Dungeon through ‘%localappdata%\Mojang\products\dungeons\dungeons\Dungeons.exe’. It is better for you to create a shortcut for it.

Need to know, loading the game through the launcher will delete any mods you have.

Here’s how to set up the Windows Store version of Dungeons for modding!

    • First, press Win + R, enter ‘ms-settings.developers’ and click Ok and then click on the Developer mode to turn on the Developer mode.
    • Then, download UWPDumper here.
    • Load Minecraft Dungeons and wait until the windows appear.
    • Then, start UWPInjector and then enter the number beside Dungeons.exe in the list which shows up.
    • Afterwards, you can also press Win + R and then enter %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Lovika_8wekyb3d8bbwe\TempState` and click on the ‘OK’ button.
    • You also need to move the DUMP folder to anywhere you want. If you desire, you can also rename it.
    • Then, replace the appxmanifest.xml file in your folder with the kind of file that you can get here.
    • In the folder, you need to click in the address bar located at the top and enter powershell and hit Enter.
    • You can run this command in PowerShell ‘Add-AppxPackage -path .\appxmanifest.xml -register`.

By doing this, it will register an app called ‘Minecraft Dungeons (Modded). If you want to play Minecraft Dungeons with mods, you can run this app instead of the normal Dungeons app. You can then install any mods into ‘Dungeons\Content\Paks\~mods` in the folder that you have moved or renamed. Otherwise, you just simply create one if you do not have a ‘~mods` folder.

Way 2: Install Mod for Minecraft Dungeons Forge API

To perform this way, ensure you have installed Minecraft Dungeons Forge. You need to look for a mod and download it for Minecraft Dungeons Forge some sites, forums and others. After that, find the Minecraft Dungeons application folder.

    • On Windows, you can open Run and type ‘%appdata%\.minecraft-dungeons\ ‘ and then click Run.
    • On Mac open finder, you can hold down ALT and then click ‘Go’ and then the library that you can find in the top menu bar. You can also open the folder Application Support and find Minecraft Dungeons.

Here, you may need to put the mod that you have just downloaded including .jar or .zip file into the Mods folder. If you load Minecraft Dungeons and click the mods button, you will see the mod has been installed.

Way 3: Install Mod from Minecraft Mod Provider

To do this third way, you need to download a mod that you want to use. Go to the  sites that provide the Minecraft Dungeons mod. Then, download the mod and make sure the mod is for the same version of Minecraft Dungeons. You also shouldn’t download anything that has not been verified as safe by the website’s community.

After that, you need to choose the mod file and locate the downloaded mod file in your computer’s normal downloads location and choose it. The mod file is commonly represented by a java logo on a white background.

You may need to extract the file first if the mod file comes in the WinRAR files. If you have extracted the WinRAR file, you need to copy the file by pressing CTRL + C (for Windows) or Command + C (for Mac) to copy the mod file.

Then, open the Minecraft Dungeons launcher. After that, click the ‘Launch’ option located in the upper right side of the launcher window. Then, click the ‘Latest’ release option located in the middle of the window.

Click the green ‘Game directory’ arrow that can be found on the right side of the launcher window, directly across from the ‘Game directory’ switch. By doing this, it will open the folder where all game folders of  Minecraft Dungeons are located.

Afterwards, double-clicking  the ‘Mods’ folder to open it. Then, paste it in the mod file by clicking a blank space in the mods. Then, press CTRL + V (for Windows) or Command + V (for Mac). The mod file will then show up in the folder.

You can then close and re-open the launcher. Then, click on the ‘Profile’ Arrow that can be found to the right of the giant green ‘Play’ button. By doing so, a pop-up menu will appear. After that, click the ‘minecraft Dungeons forge’ option that will be the version number of the Minecraft Dungeons Forge. If you do this, it will allow you to run the mods.

Last, you need to click on the ‘Play’ button to appear in Minecraft Dungeons, along with the mod you have added to the mods. So, when you begin playing a game, the mod will be applied automatically.

To note: If you do not want to use a Minecraft Dungeon mod anymore, you’re able to switch back to the Minecraft Dungeons profile in the launcher. To do it, click the ‘Profile’ arrow and then click the Minecraft Dungeons, click the ‘Play’ button. Last, remove a mod file from the mods folder to delete the mod from Minecraft Dungeons.
