The fact that it has not been updated for a while so it might have gone down or up. But, it is a not really an accurate measure because there is probably a big percentage of people who logged in to see what the fuss was about and never game back. Another recorded statistic mentions that the highest number of players active in a month, that was 78.3 million, recorded in August 2018. About Fortnite

The game of Fortnite is developed and supported by Epic Games. It was released in 2017. The game is available in some game modes that generally share the same gameplay and engine. Those versions are Save the World, that is a co-op shooter-survival game for up to four gamers, where the players fight off zombie creatures and defend objects with custom fort structure they are able to build. The next mode is Battle Royale, a game which is free to play where up to 100 players at a time can fight to be the last gamer. And the last mode is Creative mode, where the players are given freedom to make worlds and battle arenas on their own. You have to know that in creative mode, each player has access to a private island where they are able to construct buildings and add new fort structures and objects. The players are able to invite their friends to their private island and host in games like jumping courses or racing.
