This page will teach you everything you need to know about Glowing Moss, including what it is and how to make and get Glowing Moss in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Also, we are going to share some DIY recipes that use Glowing Moss in ACNH.
What is Glowing Moss?
Glowing Moss is a new material which arrived with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update. It is able to be used as decoration outside on your island. Also, it is able to be used in crafting if you have a DIY recipe which uses it. Glowing Moss looks like a glowing weed, creating it perfect for forest and cottagecore setups. It is especially neat at night due to the fluorescent light it emits.
How to Get Glowing Moss?
There are some methods that you can do to get Glowing Moss; Kapp’n Boat Tours and Happy Home Paradise DLC
Kapp’n Boat Tours: You are able to get Glowing Moss on Kapp’n Boat Tours. To do this, you will need at least 3-Star Rating. Otherwise he will not show up. If your island is not quite ready, you are able to search information about how to get a 3-Star Rating guide.
After you qualify, go to your Dock. You are going to see Kapp’n waiting for you on a small boat. He is going to transport you to a randomly-generated island for 1,000 Nook Miles, and you are only able to use his service once per day.
If you are lucky, you are going to land on an island which has Glowing Moss growing on it. You will be able to tell by looking for a small green plant which is glowing, even though it may be difficult to tell during the day. So, pick it up and check in your inventory if you are not sure. If you do not have any on the island, you have to try again the next day or time travel a day forward.
When you land on a Kapp’n Island with Glowing Moss in your hand, then you are able to check the beach because you are going to find a Glowing Moss DIY recipe in a Message in a Bottle.
Happy Home Paradise DLC: If you have Happy Home Paradise, you are guaranteed to get several Glowing Moss. For details on the DLC, you are able to check out Happy Home Paradise Guide on wiki.
Please go to your airport and select the “I want to work!” choice to fly to the DLC area. After there, go to the back of the plaza and you are going to see Glowing Moss growing on the cliffs for you to take. It is very easy. Actually, we are not sure how often it respawns, but we know it takes at least a day.
Ensure to check the Happy Home Paradise beach frequently because you are going to find Glowing Moss DIY in a Message in a Bottle.

Where to Find Vines?
Similar with Glowing Moss, Vines can only be found on specific Kapp’n boat tours. Several islands are going to be filled with the mysterious flora. You are able to harvest it. Actually, Vines and Glowing Moss do not grow natively on your island. Thus, you have to get lucky with a Kapp’n island to find it, unless you have the game’s DLC. If you have the Happy Home Paradise DLC, vines and glowing moss are going to spawn towards the back of the hub island, near the ruins. Freely, you are able to harvest these to bring home and use in DIYs and they do seem to regrow.
