The Way to Mega Evolve of Rayquaza in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire

Rayquaza has the ability to mega evolve into Mega Rayquaza. It can happen if it knows Dragon Ascent. However, it is only if it is not holding a Z-Crystal. The Rayquaza which is featured in the Delta Episode must be caught which needs it to be able to eat the Meteorite. It can be done  before you are able to mega evolve any Rayquaza.

How to Mega Evolve Rayquaza in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire
Rayquaza needs Dragon Ascent to be able to mega evolve. Do you know what Dragon Ascent is? It is a damage-dealing Flying-type move which is introduced in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. This move is Rayquaza’s signature move. What is the effect of this move? It inflicts damage and then it will lower the defense stat and special defense stat of the user by one stage each.

In Generations VI and VII, you are able to mega evolve any Rayquaza that knows Dragon Ascent. As we have explained earlier that in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, no Rayquaza can mega evolve until the Rayquaza in the Delta Episode has been able to be caught. In Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Rayquaza does not know Dragon Ascent when you battle it at Sky Pillar. However, Zinnia will teach Rayquaza soon after you catch it.

Above, we have explained Rayquaza is  not able to mega evolve until the Rayquaza in the Delta Episode has been caught. What is the Delta Episode? Well, it is a mission following the player’s first completion of the Hoenn League in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. This episode is about a meteoroid which is on course for crashing with the planet and a character named Zinnia.
