How to Get Drifloon in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond

Everyone who wants to spawn a Drifloon should go to the Valley Windworks that is located in the east of Floaroma Town. When you are there, you will have to defeat Team Galactic. It apparently happens after knocking down the first Gym Leader named Roark in Oreburgh City. Keep in mind that there will be one Drifloon that will show up each Friday after this outside the building.

Do not forget that you will have to wait a whole week if you knock down Team Galactic on a Friday until it spawns. If you are thinking of changing the date on the clock of your Nintendo Switch as a way to bypass waiting, please do not be as you will be locked out of all time based spawns for a total of 24 hours. To prevent being locked, there is no other choice but to wait. Once again, please be patient and wait until Friday after beating Team Galactic.

If you are the type of person who wants to take a risk, you might want to change the date on your device. In order to do it, here are all the instructions to follow:

    1. The first thing that you need to do is to close and save the game.
    2. Then, close the software from the HOME menu.
    3. The next thing that should be done is to choose System Settings and then turn off the synchronized clock.
choose System Settings in acnhturn off the synchronized clock
    4. After that, change the Date and Time.
    5. When everything is done, it is time for you to start the game called Pokemon Brilliant Diamond.

When it is the right time, go to the Valley Windworks during the day. Please do it between 10 AM and 7:59 PM. If you have done it well, you will be able to see Drifloon floating outside the front doors of the building. Upon seeing it, please interact with it in order to initiate the battle.

Not only catching one at the Valley Windworks every Friday, another way to get Drifloon is from Pokemon trainers. This Pokemon is able to be seen by fighting one of the two Pokemon trainers that is usually able to be found in the second area of Hearthome Gym. These trainers are the only ones in the game to use this Pokemon. If you fail to see it, there will be no way for you to complete the National Dex without waiting until a Friday or trading for a Drifloon. Please try your best to not miss it no matter what.

To be able to get Drifloon, you will have to beat the Hearthome City Gym Leader named Fantina. In order to reach Fantina, you should get all the questions of the quiz correct. Basically, there is a simple quiz where a signboard offers a question. As a player, you will have to go through the doors with the correct answers to be able to reach Fantina. If you have no idea the correct answers of the questions, here is the list for you:

    • Question: 3 plus 5 plus 7 is?
      Answer: 15
      Door: Right
    • Question: 12 plus 28 is?
      Answer: 40
      Door: Middle
    • Question: 3 times 13 is?
      Answer: 39
      Door: Left
    • Question: The first room’s answer?
      Answer: 15
      Door: Right

After knowing the correct answers, it is time for you to learn how to beat Fantina. Apparently, there are three Pokemons owned by Fantina. Here is the list of each of them:

    • Pokemon: Drifblim
      Level: 32
      Type: Ghost, Flying
      Ability: Aftermath, Zoom Lens
Moves: Strength Sap, Hex, Fly, Will-O-Wisp
    • Pokemon: Gengar
      Level: 34
      Type: Ghost, Poison
      Ability: Cursed Body, Colbur Berry
Moves: Shadow Claw, Confuse Ray, Sludge Bomb, Dazzling Gleam
    • Pokemon: Mismagius
      Level: 36
      Type: Ghost
      Ability: Levitate, Expert Belt
Moves: Confuse Ray, Phantom Force, Magical Leaf, Dazzling Gleam

The Ghost-type Pokemons owned by Fantina are known to be weak to the ones with strong physical attacks. The most recommended one is a strong physical Dark or Ghost such as Luxray and Gyarados with Bite. There should be significant damage to Drifblim by using a strong Spark. Pray harder to be able to take down this Pokemon without suffering a Burn. The Earthquake move from Torterra should be able to deal phenomenal damage against Gengar. While it is true that Mismagius has great Special Stats, its Physical Defense is poor. To deal as much damage as possible, using the Physical moves against it is recommended. Do not forget to also remember that it has the Levitate ability that will keep it immune from the Ground type moves.

For those who want to use a Dark type move to beat Gengar to deal super effective damage, you might be surprised when you do not deal as much damage as you expected before. Instead of that, it is better for you to exploit Ghost or Ground weakness.

The second tip that you can try to beat Fantina is to avoid risking confusion damage. Every time Gengar or Mismagius causes confusion via Confuse Ray, try to switch out or heal this status condition away. Due to the fact that they have high offensive prowess, it can be risky to hit yourself in confusion and get the damage from then in one turn. To prevent these things from happening, please avoid risking confusion damage.
