When you are completing the Tall Tale quest, you will need to complete the Legendary Storyteller, as the third Tall Tale quest in the Shores of Gold arc. It is known that the Legendary Storyteller will take you less or more anywhere on the Sea of Thieves and each of its varying objectives may be found in different regions.
It is highly recommended for you to not complete the Legendary Storyteller alone, because you will be more likely to run into hazards. Thankfully, this post will show you the guide of completing the Legendary Storyteller. Let’s find out the guide of Legendary Storyteller through our post below!
Guide to Complete the Legendary Storyteller Tall Tale
In an attempt to complete the Legendary Storyteller, you will get in touch with Tasha who holds a chronicle of some tall tales told by Captain Briggsy. The Legendary Storyteller Tall Tale can be obtained from the bar counter of the Unicorn tavern at Ancient Spire Outpost that is unlocked after completing The Cursed Rogue.
Step 1: Go to the Ancient Spire Outpost
Once completing The Cursed Rogue Tall Tale, you need to go to the Ancient Spire Outpost and speak with Tasha, the Tavern Woman. You can find a book for The Legendary Storyteller, next to her. Here, you need to vote to start the Tall Tale and Tasha will explain a tale.
Tasha will explain that she has met Captain Briggsy a time or two. She listened to Briggsy’s stories and drew pictures of those stories as a great way to dream that they were her adventures. However, in the end, Tasha realized that Briggsy was a liar and her stories were fake.
However, Tasha offers you her book of stories, hopefully there is some truth to get inside. The book that you have received will contain three stories inside. In fact, there are a dozen possible stories where each story will lead you to either the Crown Key, the Chalice Key or the Ancient Crown.
After you successfully complete all three stories, you will receive all three of those items. Then, you can move on to the next part of this mission.
Step 2: Find the Chalice Key, Crown Key and Chest
If you open up Tasha’s book, you will find three named stories. Certainly, each story leads to a different island in which one of three key items is located. Here’s a list of stories available on Tasha’s book with each island:

- Birthday Party: This story is based on Wanderer’s Refuge where you need to look for a water well and follow it up. You also need to find some palm trees which have some lanterms that hanging down from near some barrels. To find one of the three key items, you must dig here.
- Fish Friend: This story is based on Mermaid’s Hideaway where you need to go to the most northern part of the top of the cliffs. You can find one of the three key items by digging a small patch of dirt on top of this cliff.
- Smallest Boat: This story is based on Lone Cove where you need to spot a cave by heading to the northwest side of the island. You will find a small boat and make sure to dig by the boat to get one of the three key items.
- Treasure Adventure: This story is available on the island at K-9. In this location, you need to dive into the water and search for a sunken ship. You will then see a bigger part lower in the water and two parts of it higher up. You can then swim down to there and view a white light indicating there is treasure there where you can find one of the three key items needed.
- Naughty Man: This story is based on Scurvy Isley where you need to look for a small rock near some Pride Rock looking cliffs. You need to dig here to get one of the three key items.
- Baddies Attack: This story is based on Old Salt Atoll where you need to search for the wreckage of a galleon ship. You can go to the front of it and dig under the area in which the front looms overhead. By digging up it, you can find one of the three key items.
- Monster Island: This story is based on Thieves’ Haven where you can sail into the lagoon area in the center. You can then climb up the ladder on the left. You can then follow the trail until there is a fork. You need to head right and continue upwards to the top of the island. Make sure to go to the far backside of the island. Then, you will spot three stone heads and dig in front of them to locate one of the three key items.
- Etc (There are still remaining stories to complete including Monster Hunting, Scary Friends, Windy Wings, Rescue Mission.
Once you have solved all three stories and have obtained the Crown Key, the Chalice Key and Briggsy’s Chest, it’s a great time to move onto the next step.
Step 3: Find the Ancient Crown
When you have obtained Briggsy’s chest, you should find a plank of wood. After finding it, you need to plank over while holding it. Then, you will see some coordinates that will take you to a random island. However, we cannot say which island you will visit, as it will take you randomly.
After you are on a certain island, you can use the shapes cut into the plank of wood to locate a part of the island which fits the shapes. After you have found the part of the island which fits into the wood’s shapes, you will really know where to dig. Then, you will find the Ancient Crown.
Step 4: Go back to Tasha
After you’ve successfully obtained the Ancient Crown, you can go back to Tasha at the Ancient Spire Outpost. You need to return it back to her and you definitely complete the Tall Tale.
