In addition to fish, there is a chance of the players to catch some junk items in the game called Sea of Thieves, even though the chance is considered low. In this game, these items are known as Treacherous Plunder. Even though it has “trescherous” attached in its name, it is far from dangerous.
Just like many items in the game, junk items are able to be caught. As one of the players of the game, knowing the way to catch them is important so that you can take advantage of these items. Then, how to catch the junk items in Sea of Thieves?
In fact, catching junk items in Sea of Thieves is only possible without using bait. It means there is no way for you to be able to successfully do it if a bait is used. Pondie fishing spots are known as the best places to find this to fish them due to the fact that it has a high spawn rate. As informed by Gamepur, the most recommended way to find the junk items is to fish in the freshwater ponds. If you are not familiar with the freshwater ponds, they are the ones that are located on select Large Islands. Apparently, the only pool of fish that are able to be caught at these ponds are Pondies. There is a high chance of these junk items to spawn at ponds, even though it is still considered rare.

It is stated that the pool of things that can be caught will be limited to just Treacherous Plunder, in addition to Ashen Keys if you fish long enough at the Shores of Gold, the kind of thing that is able to be accessed by going through Tall Tale 9. Talking about the junk items in Sea of Thieves, it is actually pretty easy to tell that there is Plunder on the line. - Zharick: This representative is located at Brian’s Bazaar in The Devil’s Roar.
- Emerick: This representative is located at The Wild Treasures Store in The Wilds.
- Hendrick: This representative is located at The Spoils of Plenty Store in The Shores of Plenty.
- Aifrick: This representative is located at Roaring Traders in The Devil’s Roar.
When you arrive at one of the Seaposts and manage to meet one of The Hunter’s Call representatives, it is time for you to do the transaction. You can sell the junk items that you caught before to them. How much can you get from selling these junk items in Sea of Thieves?
The answer to the question varies by the kind of junk item that you have. If you have Old Boot, Old Hat, Old Skull, or Fish Bones, you will be able to sell each of them to The Hunter’s Call representative for 10 Gold for each item.
Then, what about the other junk items like Ashen Key and Wooden Planks? How many rewards will you be able to get if you sell them? For the Ashen Keys, instead of the company named The Hunter’s Call, you can sell them to another company known as Bilge Rats. While the four items mentioned before are worth 10 Gold, each Ashen Key is worth 5 Doubloons. As for the Wooden Planks, they are not able to be sold and you can only use them to fix the damage on ships.
