Earlier this year, it was reported that the third child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip named Prince Andrew has settled a total of £6.6 million debt with a French socialite, giving him a chance to sell his favorite ski chalet in order to fund his alleged sex abuse case.
In 2014, Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson purchased a house from the woman named Isabelle de Rouvre (74 years old) for £18 million. The name of the house is Chalet Helora. These two agreed with the woman that the house would be paid for in installments. However, according to the woman, they failed to make the final installment of £5 for the property in the exclusive Swiss ski resort of Verbier.
At first, the woman agreed that it could be delayed until December 2019, with the interest accruing. However, both Prince Andrew and Fergie still did not care about the agreement even though the woman kept demanding. It is the reason why the woman lost trust in these two. Due to the fact that there was no longer trust, two years ago, the woman launched a legal battle in the Swiss courts as an effort to recoup the sum owed to her by Prince Andrew.
After waiting for so long, finally, everything was paid last year. Even though it was late, Isabelle de Rouvre was glad that it was finally over as she got the money from the Duke of York. However, it was not that over as a lot of people were questioning how Prince Andrew earned £6.6 million he owned the woman, but now there is a chance for him to sell the house and get the cash to pay his expensive legal bills due to his sexual assault case.
Isabelle de Rouvre keeps getting questioned about Prince Andrew and his family. However, she emphasized that what matters the most is that the war is finished and the case is over. She said that she has nothing to do with it now and that she has no idea what the family is doing. Even though she lives in the same area of the house, she doesn’t know what they do. Due to the case with her so-called friend Prince Andrew and due to getting so many questions about the others, the woman had been hugely stressful, as stated by her friend.
As the case is over now, it means Prince Andrew is now free to go ahead with his plans to sell the property. It has been known that the father of Princess Eugene and Princess Beatrice needs money to pay his team of US lawyers as they battle the claims made by Virginia Roberts, who is currently known as Virginia Giuffre. Virginia Giuffre claims that Prince Andrew had sex with her three times after she was trafficked by paedophile named Jeffrey Epstein. Upon hearing the claim, Prince Andrew has consistently denied it.
If Prince Andrews sells a house located in Switzerland named Chalet Helora, it means there will be no property that belongs to Prince Andrew whether in the United Kingdom or outside the United Kingdom. Sarah Ferguson was seen with her daughters, Princess Eugene and Princess Beatrice spending their time around Verbier just after Christmas, which could be their last time in the house that consists of 7 bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool.
Before purchasing Chalet Helora from Isabelle de Rouvre, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson rented it from the woman in 2014 as a nest egg for their beloved daughters, Prince Eugene and Prince Beatrice. The couple teamed up to purchase the house for £18 right after that. To pay for the house, they reportedly took out a mortgage for £13 million with the remaining £5 million agreed to be paid in cash. When the amount remained outstanding, they were believed to make a deal with the woman in order to delay the payment until December 2019. Then, they were expected to pay £6.6 million, including the original sum and interest. Unfortunately, the debt remained unpaid, even though the demands were sent a couple of times. Due to them not giving a single attention to the demand, the woman decided to sue them, resulting in the battle in the court. Until the debt related to the house was paid, Prince Andrew did not have the right to sell it. Now, it is believed that the man has found a buyer and the process of selling is in the stage of finishing.
Actually, the people surrounding the Verbier will be glad that the family will go out of the area as they will no longer have to deal with the mess. Apparently, there are always paparazzi from a few countries like France, Switzerland, Italia, and so on every time the family is around. It always bothers people around the area. These paparazzi always block the roads. As they are annoying, people have to ask them to turn their engines off. All that they do is sit there with fumes going everywhere, resulting in pollution, which is bad for the beautiful environment of Switzerland.
Not only that, Chalet Helora does not seem that luxurious now with Prince Andrew getting caught up in the sexual abuse scandal. Once again, everyone around the house will be more than happy and thankful if the family, especially Duke of York or Prince Andrew, is gone as they want the area where they live to have a good image, which is unlikely if Prince Andrew keeps living in the area. Having a place with a sexual abuser is not something to be proud of, even though that man is known to be one of the most popular people in the world as he is the son of the first person in the popular monarchy where everyone around the world knows and has an eye on him and the whole family.
