According to the Sporting News, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have been dating since before the Covid-19 pandemic started. It is informed that they met on a dating app in March of 2020. So, until now, they have dated for almost two years before they decided to get engaged.

As also explained on the Sporting News that Owens told Texas Monthly in June of 2021 that they ended up hanging out right before the pandemic. He also said that it was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she could not do anything. Furthermore, he said that they used it to get to know each other and it created their bond and made it stronger and he is so thankful.

When Owens and Biles first began dating, Owens admitted that he did not know who she was. He said that he had not heard about her and when he told her that, that was one of the things she liked. In August of 2020, they officially made an announcement that they were a couple in an instagram post.

Owens said that it was a match made in heaven and there is no better person for him. He also said that she loves him, she is affectionate and he just loves that.

Simone Biles shared a number of photos from special occasion and the caption said ‘easiest yes’. As explained on the Sportskeeda, she also showed a close-up view of her diamond engagement ring. In the photos, it can be seen that Owens is on one knee while proposing to Biles in a traditional manner. It is reported that the engagement took place in a pretty gazebo in Houston, Texas.

Owens also marked the occasion by posting some pictures from the engagement on social media and he thanked his friends for making the arrangement.

Jonathan Owens signed with the Arizona Cardinals where it followed the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed as an undrafted free agent. During the last week of OTAs before the 2018 season, he was waived. The reason was because of an injury and he spent the whole season on injured reserve. Owens was waived by Cardinals on August 31st, 2019.

Houston Texans

To the Houston Texans practice squad, he was signed on September 30th, 2019. On November 21st, 2019, he was promoted to the active roster, but he was waived two days later and signed again to the practice squad. On January 13th, 2020, Owens was known to sign a reserve/ future contract with the Texans.

He was waived by the Texans on September 5th, 2020 and signed to the practice squad the next day. On October 10 and October 17, he was elevated to the active roster for the team’s weeks 5 and 6 games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. He was also returned to the practice squad after each game. On December 12th, 2020, it was known that he was signed to the active roster.
