Fishing in Terraria
If you have had all the things that you need for fishing such as fishing rod and bait, then you are able to go fishing. To fish, you have to go to a body of water. When you fish, as explained on the WikiHow, you have to make sure that you are fishing in an area that has at least 775 continuous tiles or blocks of any liquid (vertically or horizontally).
You are able to go to the nearest ocean biome. However, it is important for you to note that you have to be careful because you may encounter some high-level monsters on your way to fish. Before you fish, it is also possible for you to make your own fishing area and it will take time. If you want, you are also able to fish in lava and honey. However, it is important for you to note that if you want to do that there, you must have the right fishing pole and bait.
After you decide where you want to fish, now you have to stand beside the body of water. Note that you are not able to fish while submerged or standing in water. You have to stand close to the water, but not stand in it. Then, you have to equip the fishing pole by opening your inventory and placing the fishing pole in your hot bar. After that, you have to equip bait into your ammo slots and put it in one of the ammo slots to the right below your inventory.
Now, you have to cast your line by placing the cursor over the top of the water and clicking or pressing the attack button. And then, you have to wait for the bobber to move. If it moves, it means that you have caught something. If it moves, then you have to click or press the attack button again.
