The Armored Mewtwo card is a Psychic basic pokemon card and it is one of the SM Black Star Promos which is included in the Fall 2019 Collector Chest. The card was released on November 22nd, 2019. In Japan, the card was available as a SM-P Promotional card. Along with a promotional Mewtwo disk, it was given to the first three million attendees of Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution in cinemas. There is a movie logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration.

This card is based on Mewtwo from Pokemon anime which was forced to wear a suit of armor and battle for Giovanni. The armor which is worn is based on the one which is depicted in Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution.

About Psychic Type

Armored Mewtwo card is a Psychic type. What is it? It is one of the eleven TCG types and it is represented by purple color and has an open eye as its symbol. Psychic type has most Psychic and Ghost type Pokemon which is found in the main series video games. In the TCG, Alakazam and Cofagrigus are Psychic types.

From the Diamond & Pearl set until the Sword & Shield set, Poison-type Pokemon were categorized in the Psychic type. Usually, Psychic Pokemon have a weakness to several things such as Darkness, Psychic if the Pokemon is a Psychic or Poison type in the video games and Metal if the Pokemon is a Fairy type in the video games. Psychic Pokemon also have resistance to Fighting if the Pokemon is a ghost type in the video games and Colorless if the Pokemon is a ghost type in the video game.
