Tartaglia refers to himself as a bad guy who is loving for the thrill of a fight and causing chaos. He does not hate the Traveler, but will manipulate them when it is needed for the sake of Fatui, including pretending to be nice to them while having Ekaterina eavesdrop on their conversations so he is able to find out where the Qixing have taken the Exuvia.
