On September 1, 2006, Roblox made its official debut. Since that, it grown into an extremely popular MMO (massive multiplayer online) game. In the year of 2019, there were over 90 million active users on Roblox each month. Similar to Minecraft, Roblox also allows the users to explore their creativity and build their own games. Also, the Roblox team creates worlds and games for Roblox users to enjoy.
Most of the oldest Roblox games were made by the Roblox team, and the gameas were fairly famous. Unfortunately, most of those old games are no longer accessible through their original listing. But, some of them are uncopylocked so that the users are able to take copies and their own twist and create them playable again.
Well, in this page, we are going to share a list of the oldest game on Roblox. Here are they:
1. Classic: Rocket Arena

Classic: Rocket Arena is the oldest Roblox game, and dates back to January 2006, once the game was still in Beta. Classic: Rocket Arena was a free for all fighting arena that inspired lots of popular games that came after. Along with many of the earliest Roblox games, Classic: Rocket Arena was shut down in the year of 2017 for unknown reasons. Classic: Rocket Arena remained famous for some years until around 2015, when an update caused tools to stop working.
2. Forest of Desolation (Abyss’s Place)

Forest of Desolation was a mini game which featured a crumbling tower and autumn-colored trees. The game was an early example themed places on Roblox made by its users. Since 2009, Forest of Desolation game has not been updated, and is no longer fully functional. Forest of Desolation game had its name changed to Abyss’s Place since its maker named Abyss got banned.
Although Forest of Desolation game has not had many visitors, the game was featured on an official Roblox blog post back in the year of 2006 as a one of some users made places to visit at the time.
3. Yorick’s Resting Place

Yorick’s Resting Place was the holiday themed game. Roblox put out it for Halloween 2008. Although the game was made in 2006 by Jacobxxduel, who is now a Roblox Administrator, the special Halloween event did not take place until 2008. If the players beat Yorick’s Resting Place by solving four riddles, they got a special Riddling Skull hat.
The game of Yorick’s Resting Place is no longer officially playable, however it did become uncopylocked (which means anyone will be able to copy the game and alter it) at some point. But, the Riddling Skull prize was deactivated. Now, the only method to get the hat is to trade it with another user for Robux.
4. Sunset Plain

The game of Sunset Plain was the first BrickBattle game. It was a popular game mode during the early days of Roblox. Made by Schwaabo, the game of Sunset Plain was promoted by Roblox on their first Roblox Developer’s Journal blog post in late 2006. The original copy of Sunset Plain game has not been updated since it was first made and no longer functions properly.
Although the original Sunset Plain game is no longer functional, the game CloneTrooper1019’s Super Nostalgia Zone, which has created many of Roblox’s oldest games playable once again.
5. Air Base Sector 128A

Air Base Sector 128A was not exactly a game, however more of a showcase which featured an air base. The game was made by a user named tie it up and was mentioned in Roblox’s first blog post from December 2006. Like all of the earliest official Roblox games, Air Base Sector 128A is really limited and only features a mini map with a tall watchtower, a small sleeping quarters, and two towers lined with cannons.
For some reason, the stairs in the sleeping quarters of Air Base Sector 128A were not completed or connected so the players were not able to reach the upper levels of the barracks.
6. Santa’s Winter Stronghold

Santa’s Winter Stronghold was the first Christmas themed Roblox game. It was released about a week before the holiday. The special Christmas level was made by John Shedletsky who was the Creative Director at Roblox from 2006 – 2014.
In the game, the players play as Santa or an elf. The goal is to obtain the most points by collecting presents or destroying the enemies. Like all of the first official Roblox games, this Santa’s Winter Stronghold game is now unplayable.
For your information, in Santa’s Winter Stronghold, Santa has two powers: the Multirocket and Jet Boots.
7. Chaos Canyon

Chaos Canyon was one of Roblox’s earliest hit games from 2007. It has been visited more than 1.15 million times. Even though, it is one of BrickBattle fighting games, there is no real objective to Chaos Canyon. Usually, the users use the map to have a free for all fight. Chaos Canyon has standard BrickBattle weapons. Like all of the other classic official Roblox games, Chaos Canyon game has been inaccessible since 2017. The game of Chaos Canyon is an official Roblox game, it has community-created models from the users PilotLuke, Yahoo and tingc222.
