- In this first step, we assume that you have seen and have a target photo or video from the story on WhatsApp which you want to save. The stories that have all been seen will look like this in the “Status” tab on WhatsApp.
- The next step is to exit the WhatsApp app, and open the file manager app on your smartphone. Then, go to the settings menu in the file manager.
- In the settings menu, enable the “Show hidden files” option. That way, all hidden files on the phone will be visible, usually files like this have names which begin with a dot, for example ‘.chache’.
- Next, exit the settings, and look for a file named ‘WhatsApp‘. This file contains all the photos, videos, voice notes, documents, and music which you downloaded from groups or private chat rooms. Also, it stores photos and videos from the stories.
- Then, open the Media -> .Statuses file. Inside the file, you are going to find a number of photos and videos that came from the stories. Please search for the photo or video you want to save.
- The next step is to copy the photo or video to the file you want such as the DCIM, Camera file, Download, or a homemade file.
