If you find an error on your device when you are enjoying Disney, of course you have to fix it so that you are able to continue enjoying it. An error usually has a code. If the error that you face is error code 83 and in the error message it says that ‘Something went wrong. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error code 83)’, you can fix it by using the methods below.
If you find an error 83 in your Disney+, it means that there is an unknown error streaming to your device. According to the Disney Plus site, usually it is a device compatibility issue, connection error or account issue. So, you have to fix it by doing something related to these three things.
Checking the Compatibility of Your Devices
You have to check the compatibility of your device by accessing Disney+ site in the help page, exactly in the page containing information about devices and platforms which are supported by Disney+. There, you are able to see whether your devices are compatible with Disney+ or not. For your information, Disney+ can support mobile devices, game consoles, web browsers, set-top boxes and smart TV.
Testing Your Internet Connection
Testing your internet connection can be one of the efforts that you are able to do to fix this error. If you want to test the speed of your internet connection and make sure that it meets the recommendations of Disney+, you have to choose your device. If your streaming device does not have a built-in speed test app or an internet browser, you can try doing a speed test on another device while you are close to the streaming device.
On your computer and mobile devices, you are able to open your web browser and then access the speedtest.net. Then, you have to choose Start Test and then compare the results to the Disney+ recommendations.
On your Smart TV such as Samsung Tizen Smart TV, you are able to speed test by going to the Internet Browser in the Smart Hub. After that, you have to type the Speed Test in the search tab and then scroll to begin the test. Then, you have to press Enter on your remote and then you are able to compare the results to the Disney+ recommendations.
Trying To Use A Different Web Browser
The error code 83 in Disney+ can happen because of the web browser configuration that you are using. Some people who also face this issue tell that they are able to fix it by visiting a different browser. So, you are able to try to do the same by trying to use the website through a different web browser. If you find that the error is still there, it means that the issue is not with your web browser but rather the network connection.
However, if you find that the error is gone on a different browser and it is limited to a specific browser, it may be because of your browser settings. It includes the various extensions that you have installed on your browser and more. So, you are able to try disable the various add-ons/extensions that you have installed on your browser and then you are able to try to pinpoint the culprit. Another alternative that you are able to try is to access the website through the InPrivate or Incognito mode where all of the extensions are disabled by default if you have not changed the settings.
Switching Network Connection
Are you using a public network? If so, the cause of the error may be because of the network. It can be because there are a lot of loads on the network so that you are not able to get sufficient speed and so the connection is dropped. So, to fix it, you are able to switch from a public network to a private network and you are able to see whether it can help or not.
However, if you find that the issue is on the mobile apps of Disney+, you are able to switch your network from cellular to WiFi and vice versa and then you are able to check whether it can solve the problem or not.
Rebooting Your Router/ Modem
Sometimes, the issue can happen because of your IP address which is blocked by the webserver. If you reboot your router, it will assign you a new IP address and you will be able to test your connection to the web server again. So, you are able to try rebooting your router 2 to 3 times just to be on the safe side. Do you know how to do that? You are able to follow the steps below.
- First, you have to unplug the power to your internet device.
- After that, you have to wait for at least 5 minutes.
- Then, you need to plug in the router or modem and then wait for the connectivity light to start blinking.
If you find that the error is still there, then you are able to try to reset your router which will restore all the configuration to the default values. You are also able to forget the WiFi credentials of the problematic network and then you have to enter the credentials again. Then, you can launch the Disney+ app and check whether the error is still there.
Trying Using A VPN
There may be some countries or regions which are blocked from accessing the Disney+ web server. If the problem is this, then you are able to try to use a VPN client which is not blocked by DisneyPlus.
If you have tried all of the efforts to fix error code 83 including the methods that we have explained above, but you find that no one works, then the last thing that you are able to do to be able to fix this error is to contact Disney+ Customer Service. You are able to contact them anytime because they are available 24/7. You are able to contact them either through chat, phone or social media.
