To add students to your roster, make sure you’ve already completed the ways of creating the roster. If you have created your roster in Raz Kids, you can then add students to your roster. To add students to your roster, you can do some following steps:

- First, log into the Kids A-Z portal here.
- Once you are at the Login Page, you can click the ‘Teacher’ button on the top.
- Then, enter your username and password.
- After logging in, you need to find the ‘Manage Student’ section.
- Then, you need to click the ‘Add Students’ option.
- By clicking the option, it will bring a table to provide your student information.
- In the table, type the student’s first name, last name, add the student assignment level to determine which reading A to Z level your student is. Then, you also need to set the student’s password.
- Last, you can click the ‘Save’ button.
That’s it! You successfully add the students to your roster easily. It’s your turn to start adding new students to your roster according to their reading level. Adding a new student to your roster is pretty easy, isn’t it?

- To create a roster in Raz Kids, you need to log into Kids A-Z with your teacher username and password. In the Login section, you just enter your credentials that will bring you to the Raz-Kids dashboard.
- After you are at Raz Kids page, then click the ‘Member Login’ option near the top of the page. From here, you will be able to manage your roster and see the weekly analytics on how your students are doing.
- Then, you just simply click the ‘My Classroom’ button.
- After that, you can click the ‘Add Students’ button.
- Then, create a unique username for each student.
- After creating a student’s unique name, you may need to associate each username with a student’s first and last name. (It will only be accessed by logged teacher)
- Make sure to assign specific learning levels for each student and assign a unique password for each student.
Congratulations! You successfully create a classroom roster in Raz Kids.
How to Determine a Student’s Appropriate Reading Level?
After creating a roster and adding students to your roster, you can assign and track which books that your students have been reading, align the process to the Common Core Standards, see quiz scores, assess which skills students are reaching or struggling with and listen to recordings of students reading.
As a teacher, you can also assign a student a reading level to determine the appropriate reading level with a benchmark book or passage to read and record. Once your students complete the three part assessment including reading, retelling and taking a quiz, they will send them to your basket where you can review and use an online running record and rubric for the retelling.
To determine your student’s reading level, you can choose one of three options to help your students start reading including Assign Reading Placement Tool, Pinnell or Lexile Level and Choose a Reading Level or Enter a Fountas. You students will progress to higher levels when they read books and take quizzes.
If you enter a student’s Pinnell Level and Lexile or Fountas, the Raz Kids team will choose the correlated Learning A-Z level. You can also use the Level Correlation Chart to view appropriate correlations to those systems.
From there, you can either assign out all reading materials at a specific level or also ask your students to read specific books from the Raz-Kids collection.
There are two options for assignments, they are:

- Self-paced
This option works to place the student on a level and should complete each task including listening, reading and taking the quiz at 80% or above. It aims to be automatically promoted to the next level.

- Custom Assignment
This option allows you to choose books and tasks for the student to complete from the entire collection.
When you receive the recording, you can leave comments, with easily marking which words students left out, inserted or mispronounced. After that, you can offer immediate feedback to your students.
For practice recordings, you can offer immediate feedback to your students with the message area or create notes to access at a later time.
You will also access a wide variety of reports that will give you access to any type of data that you may have to collect. You can also look at class specific data, stats linked to particular standards, individual data and many others.
