    • Firstly, you need to log into your Roblox account.
    • Then, go to account settings.

    • Choose the Display Name option which is located above Username.
    • Click on the ‘pencil icon’ to edit your Display Name.

    • Then, go to account settings.

Some important notes about Roblox Display Name:

    • Changing display name has launched to Germany players, meaning this feature is not available for the rest of the world yet.
    • Players outside of Germany should use a VPN by connecting to a Germany IP address which enables them to change their Display Names.

About Display Names

Display names are a Roblox new feature which were announced on February 7, 2021 on the Roblox Developer Forum. This was first released on February 18, 2020 for 1 hour in Germany, but it was then removed. This feature came back again on April 14, 2021, it was then removed on April 15, 2021.

However, display names will replace the players’ name on the player list of a game and the username above the players. But, the chat still displays the username. It will appear on the leaderboard in-game.

You actually can click on a user’s name in the leaderboard and it will display you  their display name and below their username with @sign, similar to Twitter handles. The display name also appears in the menu.

Then, the developers can also enable display names to be visible in chat through Chat à ClientChatModules à ChatSetting : line 98. After that, copy the folder ‘ClientChatModules’ and stop play testing and paste the folder into ‘Chat’.
