Adding Money to Securus account

Apparently, there are two methods to add money or funds to an incarcerated individual’s Securus Debit Account Online through Securus online.

Method 1: For customer who have a Securus Online account

Here are steps to add money/fund for customer who have a Securus Online account:

    • For customer who have a Securus Online account, please log into your online account
    • Then, you have to click on View Accounts
    • After that, choose the incarcerated individual and click add funds
    • Now, you need to enter some information: First Name, Last Name, Billing address City, State and Zip.
    • In this step, you are able to choose Payment Type
    • Please enter Credit Card Number, Expiration Date & CVV#
    • Afterwards, you have to enter Deposit Amount
    • Lastly, click Submit

Method 2: For customer who do not have a Securus Online account

Here are steps to add money/fund for customer who do not have a Securus Online account:

    • At the first step, you have to choose “Find Incarcerated Individual” option under Securus Debit
    • You have the ability to search by Incarcerated Individuals Name or ID
    • If you want to search by incarcerated individual Name, you have to enter the first name and last name of the incarcerated individual. Also, you have to choose a State where an incarcerated individual is located. Please choose Facility where incarcerated individual is located
    • While if you want to search by incarcerated individual ID, you have to enter an incarcerated individual ID. After that, enter the State where the incarcerated individual is located.
    • After an incarcerated individual has been located, you have to choose Fund Inmate.
    • Please enter the following information: First Name, Last Name, Billing address, City, State & Zip.
    • Do not forget to choose Payment Type
    • Afterwards, enter Credit Card Number, Expiration Date & CVV#
    • Now, you are able to enter Deposit Amount
    • Lastly, click Submit

Payment – Maximum Funding

Securus has already enforced a $50.00 per transaction maximum funding amount for AdvanceConnect and Securus Debit account transactions processed via Securus Online, Securus’ Customer Service Agents, Securus’ Customer Service IVR, and Automated Information Services (AIS).

For note: This funding maximum does not apply to family and friends that associated to facilities with $0 funding fee, third party points-of-sale such as Western Union, MoneyGram, or JPay, payments made for Direct Billed or Traditional Collect accounts, or family and friends who associated to TDCJ and WI DOC.

    • Q: Why is this change being created?
      A: This change is being made in an ongoing effort to minimize fraudulent transaction claims, which eventually is good for the public. The majority of the consumers will not be impacted by this change because most funding is below $50.00 per transition right now.
    • Q: Can I make one transaction of $50 and make another transaction of $50 immediately?
      A: Yes
    • Q: Does this change impact the transaction fees?
      A: No, this change just implements a maximum funding amount of $50.00 per transaction for select points-of-sale.

What are the things you have to consider and do if a payment is not posted to your account?

Things to consider if a payment was sent through the mail:

    • Mailed payments need to take 7 to 10 business days to be accepted and posted to your account.
    • Was your Payment mailed more than 10 business days?
    • Was there Federal Holiday during this time frame? Remember that Federal Holidays will be able to cause posting delays.
    • Was your Payment mailed to their Lock Box address?
    • Payments sent to the correspondence address are going to take longer to post due to it not reaching the correct department.
    • If the payment was not mailed to the correct PO Box, Securus will not be able to guarantee you will receive it.

Things to consider if a payment was paid by credit card

    • Was correct account information provided?
    • Do you have more than one account?

Things to consider if payment was made to our automated system

    • If the transaction has not yet been posted, you have to call 972-734-1111 for customer service assistance.
    • You have to call using international or a landline, just call at 1-800-844-6591.

Things to consider if a payment was paid by Western Union

    • Did you utilize the Blue Quick Collect Form or the Multi-Section form?
    • Did you supply the right information on the Blue Quick Collect form?

How to make a Western Union Payment?

Since September 1, 2020, the fee to fund a Securus account via Western Union is $4.95. Now, Western Union has two forms and a phone service. Forms which are available depend on location. Also, phone Services depend on location. Several locations have the Blue Quick Collect form. While some other locations have a multi section form and have a phone service as well.

When the Blue Quick Collect form is available, then the customer must fill out the below information:

    • Pay To Name: Securus
    • Account Number
    • Family or Friends 6 or 8-digit Customer ID number
    • Send Amount
    • Dollar amount

    • Choose a Payment Speed

Section 3

    • Your Information
    • Friends and Family information
    • Email is not required

Section 4

    • Your Signature
    • Family and friends Signature

If the multi-section form is available, then the customer needs to fill out the “Pay a Bill” section.
