Pay Your Premium at Aetna Medicare
As explained on the Aetna Medicare site, you are able to choose from safe and convenient payment options. You may prefer to set up a monthly payment or make a one-time payment. Whatever option that you choose, Aetna takes your payment security as seriously as you do. The thing that you need is your member ID card, date of birth or credit card.

You are able to set up your monthly payment or you are able to make a one-time payment online by using your plan invoice. On the Aetna Medicare website on the Pay Your Premium page, you can see the Medicare Advantage Plan section and there you can find the Pay MA/MAPD premium button. If you want to pay through it, you can click on it and then there will be a pop up window and then click on the Pay Now button. If you click on the Pay Now button, you will be taken to the Payer Express login page. It is explained that Aetna handles premium payments through Payer Express which is a trusted payment service. It is important for you to note that your Payer Express login may be different from your Aetna secure member site login. - Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)
You are able to use Aetna secure payment system to make a one-time payment or you are able to set up automatic monthly payments online. On the Aetna Medicare website on the Pay Your Premium page, there is the Prescription Drug Plan section and there you can click on the Pay PDP Premium button to pay your premium. It is also explained that your InstaMed login may be different from your Caremark.com secure member site log in.

Other Things to Know About Paying Your Premium
You may experience a thing where you have not received your first invoice to pay your monthly premium. So, you may wonder when you are able to expect it. As explained on the Aetna Medicare site, your first invoice may take up to 45 days to arrive. At that time, you may be billed for two months’ coverage. It is important for you to note that your payment is not due until you get your first invoice. You are always able to make a payment over the phone. If you want to make a payment over the phone, you are able to call Customer Care at the number that you are able to find on your member ID.
Another thing that you need to know about paying a premium is when your premium payments are due. On Aetna Medicare website, it is explained that premium payments are due on the 1st of each month. You are able to choose convenient automatic premium payments through your bank account or credit card. Let’s say that you choose that option. Then, your payment will be processed between the 8th and 10th of each month.
If you signed up for automatic payments, but you received an invoice in the mail, it is important for you to note that it may take two or more months for automatic deductions to start. You have to continue to do one of the things below.

- You have to pay with a credit card online at AetnaMedicare.com/PayYourPremium
- You have to pay with cash, a credit card or your debit card at your local CVS Pharmacy.
You have to make these payments until you do not receive an invoice in the mail anymore.
