Is It Possible For A Medical Biller to Earn 100k A Year?
According to the AAPC website, the average salary of a medical coder is $53,051 per year. If medical billers and coders do not have a certification, they may earn $41,543 per year, but if they are certified, they can earn $57,646 per year where it is 39% more than those who do not have certification.
On that site, it is also explained that in the 2020 Healthcare Salary Survey, it shows medical coding certification pays where salaries for health information technicians with two credentials rise to an average of $63,085. If billing and coding specialists have three or more credentials, they earn almost $68,589 per year.
According to the information of medical billers and coders salary from AAPC above, there is no report which shows that a medical biller and coder earns $100k a year. However, according to The Virginian Pilot website, managers in charge of a dozen coders and billers are able to earn more than $100,000. On Indeed website, there is a job vacancy as a Medical Coding Manager (remote) for eCatalyst Healthcare Solutions in Chicago, IL and on that job vacancy, it is explained that the salary is around $100k to $130k. This salary depends on experience, skillset and certifications.
