Use Your Digital Camera as a Webcam Easily

Digital SLR cameras are the most popular in recent years. Glass cameras currently offer USB cameras. All you have to do is install additional software. Introducing manufacturers who support this item and camera models that will help you develop game zoom.

You may be looking for a DSLR or mirrorless camera due to lack of space and increased network demands due to increased workloads. Why can’t I connect it to my computer and enjoy better video quality than a “portable” website? The simple answer is that most cameras don’t support this feature, at least on their own.

Mac users are not served well. Canon, Fijifilm, Olympus and Panasonic have released webcam apps for macOS so far, and the rest are Windows. There are quite a number of hackers. Canon EOS Webcam Utility Beta

Canon EOS Webcam Utility Beta has been available for Mac OS and Windows since 2019, works with multiple SLR cameras, not mirrorless or premium lenses. This is published as a beta version.

So, don’t expect technical support if you run into problems.To use it, you need a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or macOS with Catalina, Mojave, or Sierra installed that works after publishing.

This is the newer model and has cheaper options on the list, but I can’t add the $ 100 PowerShot Elph. Support is limited to the G-series PowerShot and interchangeable lenses.

The EOS webcam software works with many current generation EOS models (Canon DSLR and mirrorless series) and some earlier models. Fortunately, Canon’s newest camera is easy to remember, which is refreshing for owners of older bodies. If you have one of these cameras, you’re good to go.

After running the software on your system, connect your camera to USB and select the appropriate source in your video chat application.

Fujifilm X Webcam Software

Works with high quality Fujifilm X and GFX cameras that only support multiple generations. Fujifilm X-T2, X-T3, X-T4, X-H1, X-Pro2, X-Pro3, GFX50S, GFX50R or GFX100 is required for use.

There are two new models that serve as USB sites with no additional software for entry-level support. You can connect the X-A7 or X-T200 to your computer and use it as a Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Zoom site, and many more.

Nikon Webcam Utility Beta

Windows software only match with Nikon software. It runs on Windows PC that have 64-bit version or Windows 10 and can be downloaded for free. Nikon promises to use the Mac version soon.

The camera only supports some of the newer models, so if you have an older SLR, you’ll be in luck. But it supports today’s species. This software is already running on D576, D7500, D500, D780, D850, D6, Z50, Z5, Z6 and Z7.

Olympus OM-D Webcam Beta

Olimpus OM-D for beta webcam is available on Mac with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10 programs and Sierra via Catalina. This only applies to some models above the basic level. OM-D E-M1, OM-D E-M1 Mark II, OM-D E-M1 Mark III, OM-D E-M1X and OM-D E-M5 Mark AN.

I tested the macOS software with the E-M1 Mark III and it worked fine. When connecting the camera to a computer, simply select the correct USB connection type (using the icon to indicate that the camera is connected to a desktop computer). If you want 16: 9 images, don’t forget to change the camera size.

Panasonic Lumix Tether for Streaming

The Panasonic Lumix Tether uses cross-platform cross-platform software with multiple test software alerts. The latest version works on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10 and Mac systems with legacy operating systems such as Catalina and El Capitan (10.11) installed.

Sony Imaging Edge Webcam

If you are using A9 II, a7R IV or ZV-1, you will need to change some network settings in the camera list to another better model to get the best results when you need to set this mode. After installing this software, you can ask Sony for more information about a specific camera model.

The Mac Hack (Camera Live + CamTwist)

The camera manufacturer has supported Windows systems well, but not all brands offer Mac webcam apps. There are several solutions, including the hack I used for Google Call and Zoom, detailed in DPReview’s report.

If you are comfortable using Terminal, the command line interface provided by macOS, you can enter a few commands to open your computer to various hobbyists and professional cameras. You need to install Zoom.

The first you must type xcode-select –install on your command prompt, it will load on your Mac if you don’t have Apple’s Xcode development toolkit installed.

On the second next step type, sudo codesign –remove-signature /Applications/zoom.us.app/ on your command prompt to remove the signature from the Zoom application.
