About Precursors
What are the precursors? They are long dead galactic empires which predates fallen empires and the curators. Across the galaxy, the ruins of the precursor are scattered so that the player has to find them through anomalies or archeology sites. Precursor anomalies give a special project which has been investigated, gives a small amount of Engineering , Society, or Physics and a precursor artifact. To reveal the location of a home system the precursor needs 6 artifacts.
Let say that every precursor anomaly has been investigated. However, no empire managed to gather 6 artifacts. So, a random event can trigger every 20 years and add another precursor anomaly on one of the previously investigated planets. The time is decreased to 13.3 years for Gestalt Consciousness empires.
AI empires can also sell a found artifact to Player empires. The price is 1000 Energy. In case the player empire possesses the Warrior Culture civic, it is able to threaten the AI empire to surrender it for free. The rate of success depends on the Relative Power of both empires. Empires which hold a Friendly, Protective or Loyal attitude will offer the artifact for free instead of asking for payment. It is important for you to know that the AI Empire will offer an artifact once.
If a Precursor homeworld has been found, the empire will obtain an artifact action to spend 50 Minor Artifacts to begin a special project to delve into the secrets of one of the Precursor civilizations. Completing the special project will give a permanent empire benefit. For your information, if the DLC is installed, 1 to 5 Minor Artifacts will be given by precursor anomalies.
The Sites of Precursor
The sites of Precursor Archaeology can be seen only to the empire which begins the event chain. They are used to advance the Baol and Zroni event chains. The planet will obtain a deposit of 2 – 4 Zro when a Zroni Archaeology site is found.
- Baol
Sites: Grunur Ruins, The Barren, The Shattered, The Silenced.
- Zroni
Sites: Abandoned Colony Ruins, Zroni Minor Colony, Zroni Major Colony, Zron.
