Check Thermal Fuse

To check the heating element:

    • If the gas does not ignite, but the igniter does glow, then you have to replace the whole set of gas valve coils.
    • If you have replaced the gas valve solenoid coils or the igniter, then you have to check if the problem has been solved. Occasionally, you will need to replace both.

Check the Incoming Power

Another cause of your Samsung dryer not heating is if there is an issue with the incoming power to your dryer. Electric dryers need two legs of 120 volts AC to operate properly. Occasionally, one of the fuses can trip that means the dryer might still run but not heat.

To check it:

    • You have to locate your household fuse box.
    • After that, locate the correct fuses that power the dryer.
    • Then, test each fuse with a multimeter to make sure that it has the correct voltage, and if not, you will need to replace it.

Check High-Limit Thermostat

Also, most dryers have a cycling thermostat which works to cycle the heat on and off to regulate the air temperature in the dryer.  When it becomes faulty, then your dryer will not heat.

To check the cycling thermostat:

    • Firstly, you have to ensure that the power is switched off.
    • After that, locate the cycling thermostat.
    • Then, test the thermostat with a multimeter to see if it has continuity.
    • If the test shows no continuity, then it will need to be replaced. But, if it does have continuity, it is working properly.
