Machamp’s Raid Battle in Shiny Form

Raid Battles occur when a Boss Pokemon actually takes over a Gym. In this battle, your only goal is to eliminate this powerful Pokemon. Of course, if you successfully defeat it, you will be granted with special items and then have a chance to catch this Pokemon. Moreover, the Raid Battle is not a typical Gym Battle. Here, your enemies will be harder to eliminate than most other Pokemon. In this case, Raids have 4 tiers of difficulty, they are Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 5 and Mega Raids. Well, the higher the difficulty, the stronger the Raid Boss and the players will need in order to get success.

To know, Machamp is a great Raid Boss to find. However, some players may want to reserve their raid passes for only Tier 4 or Tier 5, but Machamp is only available in Tier 3 and Tier 4.

Here’s for Machamp’s Tier 3 in detail!

  • Raid: Tier 3
  • Boss CP: 19, 707
  • Suggested players: 2-3
  • Boss HP: 3,600
  • Caught CP range: 1,667 – 1,746
  • Caught CP (boosted): 2,084 – 2,183
  • Minimum IVs: 10 / 10 / 10

Here’s for Machamp’s Tier 4 in detail!

  • Raid: Tier 4

  • Caught CP range: 1,667 – 1,746
  • Caught CP (boosted): 2,084 – 2,183
  • Minimum IVs: 10 / 10 / 10

From the list above, we can prove that Machamp can be soloable by high-level players with the right attacking option against it, but the minimum recommended group size is 2 or 3 people.

To ease you in eliminating the powerful Pokemon, you should know the best Raid Counters for Machamp. You may already know that Machamp is vulnerable to fairy, psychic, and flying. Well, the best attackers to defeat Machamp includes Alakazam, Mewtwo and Espeon which are followed by Moltres, Lugia and Rayquaza.

Here’s for details about them!

Mewtwo’s counters are Confusion/ Psychic

Alakazam’s counters are Confusion/ Futuresight and Psycho Cut/ Futuresight. They are the best movesets for this Raid Battle. However, Psychic is a viable option for this battle. Moreover, Alakazam is a glass cannon with one of the best attack stats of the game. Keep in mind, it can also be taken down easily and avoing the Machamp’s charge moves will be a must-do for you.

Espeon’s counters are Confusion/ Futursight and Zen Headbutt/ Futuresight. They have the greatest STAB DPS values but you shouldn’t forget Psychic as a potential alternative. In this battle, psybeam is not recommended since it’s the worst attacking move for Espeon in the terms of DPS. Just like Alakazam, Espeon is also a glass cannon even though both of them are susceptible to Machamp’s Fighting moves, as their psychic typing can be easily eliminated.

How to Get Raid Battle?

You definitely will receive notification of Raid Battles nearby. To find it, you can also use the Nearby feature to find the raids happening around you. Besides, you can also accept a raid invitation from a friend, no matter how far you are from the Raid Battle.
