About OSRS Wyrms

OSRS Wyrms

In the game of OSRS, Wyrms are draconic creatures that are discovered in the lower level of the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon (in Mount Karuulm). It needs level 62 Slayer for killing. The players are able to get there quickly by using the fairy ring cir which is located south of the mountain. Because they are only discovered within the volcano, the players have to wear the boots of stone, the boots of brimstone or the boots of granite to protect themselves from the extreme heat of the dungeon floor. The players who have already completed the elite Kourend and Kebos Diary do not need to wear this footwear to avoid being burned quickly.

Based on the research, wyrms were an ancient race of dragons, claimed to be capable of damaging the cities and armies on their own. They disappeared slowly due to their heavy involvement in the God Wars. The Wyrms currently in the dungeon are recreational experiments of the powerful Wyrms of the past by a Dragonkin named Karuulm. Wyrms do not need any form of dragonfire protection. Once encountered, they are going to be slithering on the ground. But, after they attack, they are going to levitate off the ground and attack the player. Wyrms attack with Melee and Magic. If attacked from a distance, they are going to use their magic attack. This will make the Ranged attack style while using a form of magic protection, such as Protect from Magic, or armour with high magic defence bonuses like dragonhide, which is a viable method to kill Wyrms. High level players (70+ Defence) must be fine with food and Karil’s armour.

Need to know that Wyrms are the only monster to drop the dragon sword and dragon harpoon. They are vulnerable to the effects of Dragonbone weapons. When Auto Retaliate is turned off, Wyrms require to be clicked on twice for your character to start attacking them automatically. Once to make them leave their idle state, and once again as they start attacking.

On a Slayer Task, any idle Wyrms on the eastern alcove of the second island will be able to be attacked and lured to the corner to ensnare them. It makes the players to range them at a certain spot while staying out of their magic attack range. Occasionally the Players will need to re-engage the Wyrm in combat because it is going to return to its idle state after being unable to retaliate for several hits. For this case, we suggest you to use a shortbow or other 3-tick attack speed option, so that if the Wyrm idles, the arrow released re-engages the Wyrm just in time for it to go back into its attacking state without making the player stop attacking. However, getting this timing right can be tricky.

  1. Karuulm Slayer Dungeon Lower Level (Northern Area) – Level 99
  2. Karuulm Slayer Dungeon Lower Level (Southern Area) – Level 99

For your information, the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon is a dungeon located beneath Mount Karuulm, exactly located just west of Lovakengj. It contains some monsters and draconic creatures not discovered anywhere else. When entering the dungeon, the players are going to find a chamber with the Tasakaal, the masters of the Kahlith just above. They will not converse with the players until The Ascent of Arceuus quest. Also, this chamber contains a pipe shortcut requiring 88 Agility that leads the players outside the Alchemical Hydra’s chambers, taking the same time as traversing past the nearby hydras.
