When you open Roblox, you may find that you cannot access it. Then, you think whether Roblox is down or not. If we want to know whether Roblox is down or not, we have to check it. Where to check the status of Roblox website? Let’s find out about it here.
Checking Roblox Status in the Official Roblox Website Status
If you want to check the status of Roblox, Roblox has a Roblox status website that can be accessed at https://status.roblox.com/. On this website, there is information whether every section of Roblox is operational or not. There are some sections in the website including:
-
- User: Website, Mobile App, Xbox App, Avatar
- Player: Website, Mobile App, Xbox App, Games, Avatar
- Creator: Website, Games, Studio, Asset Delivery, Data Store, Game Join, Avatar
If you find that all of these parts are operational, it means that everything is okay. However, if one or some of the parts state the other things, it means that something happens with the certain parts.
If everything is okay, then you will see that beside each of the parts, it states ‘Operational’ in green color. Yellow color means degraded performance. For orange color, it means partial outage and for red color, it means major outage. How about blue color? It means maintenance.
Under the table of information about the status of each section, there is a table of history in the last 30 days. When I tried to access it, there was a history of major outages of Roblox services, degraded player experience, Roblox service not available to the majority of users and degraded performance. In each history, it is explained about incident status, components, and locations. Also, it is explained about the date when Roblox team investigated it and also when they resolved it.
For example, in the history of Major outage of Roblox services, the incident status is Service Disruption. In the component, it is explained that it happens to the user, player and creator. The locations of the major outage are on website, mobile app, Xbox app, games, studio, asset delivery, data store, game join and avatar. Then, there is an explanation where on July 19th, 2021 at 5:21 pm PDT, Roblox team was investigating the root cause. Then, on July 19th, 2021 at 6:26 pm PDT, it is explained that at that time they were able to deploy the fix.
Some Websites to Check Whether Roblox Servers Down or Not
The Roblox Status website which is explained above is one of the websites that you are able to access when you want to know whether Roblox is down or not. The Status Page above is built by Roblox for users to reference when faced with launch issues. As we also explained earlier, the page is broken down into three categories namely User, Player and Creator. Specific areas of Roblox like mobile app, website, and Xbox app are listed separately under each category.
Beside the official Roblox status website above, there is also another website that you can use to check whether Roblox is down or not. The website is Downdetector which can be accessed at https://downdetector.com/status/roblox/. On this page, it tracks user reports in real time. It means that any player who is experiencing a server issue may log the outage at the time of occurrence. Then, Downdetector logs the reports of the user and graphs the data for everyone to reference.
As explained on Pro Game Guides website, Downdetector has a function as a secondary tool which is helpful. It is because the outages are reported in real time on that site and it is straight from the player base. Users are logging their own data on Downdetector even in the rare case where Roblox is not fast enough to report outages. So, this site is an efficient way to confirm whether the issue is widespread or if it is simply an issue with your ISP.

Things to Know About Maintenance in Roblox
According to Roblox Wiki, maintenance in Roblox occurs when Roblox staff temporarily shut down the whole website and services. It is done because they will do crucial updates or general maintenance. When maintenance begins, Roblox users will not be able to connect to servers. For Roblox users who are already in games, they will be automatically kicked from servers. When maintenance is being performed, anyone who tries to go to a Roblox page will be redirected to a generic maintenance page.
Before maintenance is started, usually there are yellow or orange banners which can be seen on the website. The banners inform all players about the maintenance. It is done to prevent any sitewide panic. Players may also be informed that access to servers will be unavailable temporarily.
However, sometimes there is some maintenance which does not require the website to be shut down. Nevertheless, an orange banner will appear on the website. The banner states that the website is now undergoing maintenance and that players may find that there is a connection issue when they try to join or play a game.
In the past, maintenance used to be done when most people were asleep or at school in different time zones. But then, by 2019, maintenance is usually rare. Instead, it happens at any time in emergencies and sometimes it happens even without any notifications in advance.
