Cats are a species of villager who can move and live on your island. All cats villagers have pointed ears, tails even wear dress-like garments in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. At least, there are 30 cats with 26 cat villagers and 4 special cat characters that you can find in the series.

- Blanca
She is a white cat who will ask the player to draw her face. Blanca is represented as a very spunky personality even though she is not developed as a character. In New Leaf series, she acts as the leader of April Fool’s Day. She dresses as a villager from the player’s town inside their house. Her birthday is on February 8.
- Kaitlin
Kaitlin is the mother of Katie, one of the cat characters in Animal Crossing. After they are reunited, the players who already had Katie is in their town will accept a present. If the players didn’t accept the present, Kaitlin will remain the player’s island for a week before disappearing.
- Katie
Katie is a Kaitlin’s daughter. She is represented as a yellow kitten with brown hair who will appear in the players’ island randomly. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, she will ask the players to traveling to a different town. Here, the players should go with Katie in which she will be reunited with Kaitlin. Her birthday is on October 22.
- Rover
Rover can be a special cat character in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. He has variety of jobs. But the major of his job is to set up the playable character. Rover is represented as a blue and white cat with blue pupils and red irises in his eyes. His birthday is on February 1.
