Finally, the pigeon barista has joined the Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as part of the big 2.0 update. Brewster manages The Roost, a cafe that can be found in your island’s museum. Now, in this article we are going to show how to unlock Brewster and show what you can do at The Roost.
How to Unlock Brewster and the Roost?
Brewster is the kind-hearted pigeon who runs a cafe found in the museum called The Roost. Brewster likes to collect gyroids and make the cup of coffee. Even, he likes to offer to add some pigeon milk when you become a routine customer. For your information, pigeon milk is actually yucky. At the Roost, you are able to use Amiibo to call over non player characters like Mable and Sable for enjoying a cup of coffee with them.
So, how to unlock Brewster? Apparently, there are a few steps to unlocking Brewster. At the first step, you have to be the island’s Resident Representative. Need to know that the Resident Representative is the first player to start an ACNH game and move to a new island. When you are playing with some resident Representatives on an island, it is only the Resident Representative who will be able to complete some certain tasks.
After that, you will need to visit Blathers in the museum. At your first visit after installing the Animal Crossing 2.0 update, Blathers are going to have a thought over his head. After talking to him, he will say that he wants to figure out a way to get more visitors to the museum, and also he wants to add a cafe. Unfortunately, his old Brewster who ran the coffee shop closed the coffee shop and disappeared. Then, Blathers asks you to track down Brewster. His only tip for you is that he enjoys gyroids.
An Island Tour with Kapp’n: Apparently, Gyroids have not started appearing on your island yet, however the island’s new attraction offers a clue: Kapp’n’s boat tours. Isabelle mentions these in her announcements when you load the game, but you will need to head to the previously vacant dock that is usually located on the left or right side of your island to discover Kapp’n. The Kapp’n is going to take you to an uninhabited island tour once a day in exchange for 1,000 Nook Miles. Fortunately, you do not need to purchase a ticket; Kapp’n receives wireless payments. Please purchase your first ticket, and then you are off.
Hunting for Brewster: When you reach your first uninhabited island, it should not take you too much hunting to discover a pigeon Brewster in a hat and polo. In fact, Brewster is out on this same island hunting for gyroids. He is going to give you your first gyroid fragment too, and explain how to plant and water it. After you deliver your message from Blathers, he is going to agree to come to your island. Then, he will ask you to let Blathers know that he is accepting his invitation.
Now, back to the museum. While the gyroid is a nice gift, the most crucial step for securing Brewster will happen when you return. You have to go back to visit Blathers on the same day. He will be happy. Then, he is going to say the museum needs to close for construction to accommodate the expansion. Brewster and the Roost are going to be available the day after tomorrow. For note: The museum will be closed the day after you talk to Blathers. The Roost is going to be open the next morning.
What Can You Do at The Roost?
Once the Roost opens, immediately you are able to sit down at a counter stool. Brewster is going to serve you a free cup of coffee. Occasionally, other visitors are going to be sitting next to your stool sipping their cup. You are able to talk to them or only sit down next to them.
Formerly, Brewster’s options are limited. You are able to order a cup of coffee for 200 bells. If you want to get on Brewster’s good side, you have to drink the coffee immediately like he asks. Then, from there you are going to hop off the stool and head on your way. After 3 days of consistent coffees, you will be able to take coffee to go. However, you might want to do more than only grab a hot mug of coffee. Also, you are able to hang out for a bit and invite over several friends.
How to Invite Other Characters to The Roost?
You are able to invite characters to join you at The Roost by using Amiibo or Amiibo cards. Please go to the yellow phone on the left-hand side of the cafe and then use it, which is where you are going to have the choice to scan in your favorite characters. Depending on who you invite, different folks will show up. For example, if you invite Joan, she will bring along Daisy Mae, the little one is not old enough to drink coffee, so Brewster is going to serve her a cookie. If you invite one of the Able Sisters, they are able to bring along the rest of the family. Occasionally, folks on your island are going to visit the Roost for some coffee, like Tom Nook and Isabelle.
Can I Get Coffee With My Friends?
Yes. Usually, you cannot sit at the group tables in The Roost unless you are bringing your friends. When you have got visitors at your island, the group is able to sit down for coffee. Brewster is going to serve you from behind the bar, with some different options for how to pay. One person is able to grab the whole check, or you are able to divide things up individually. We get information that there are some players who said that if your friends do not pay for you, and you do not have money, then you are going to get water at the Roost.
