Microsoft plans to release the next six-month Windows 10 November 2019 update (version 1909) in the coming weeks; This means that compatible devices will soon begin to receive a small number of new features and several developments.
As with previous versions, the November 2019 update will be released as an optional update and will be installed as soon as you start the process manually from the Windows Update Settings page. However, the upgrade environment depends on the version you are using. If you are already using the May 2019 update, the new version will be available as an integrated update that does not require a reinstall. If you are using an older version, the update may take longer and you may need to reinstall Windows 10.
And Windows 10 does not require a November 2019 update, but devices with near-death versions will eventually automatically receive and support the update.
These new changes will help improve the update process, but Windows 10 version 1909 is available in at least three ways, if you are sure you have full control over the update process or prefer an existing installation at the end of the service.
In this Windows 10 guide, we will learn how you can delay the November 2019 update on your device without losing any significant quality updates, whether you are using Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home.
You can use these instructions in most versions of Windows 10, but the purpose of this guide is for most October 2018 updates and earlier devices, since the new update will be in the form of a small batch update for the May 2019 update.
Windows 10 November 2019 delaying update
If you downloaded the Windows Update page and hit the Now Download and install now button, if you’re using a device and aren’t ready to apply after it’s ready, you can use the settings to delay another time or date.
Windows 10 features installation update delay
Follow the steps below to delay installing feature updates for about a week.
1. Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update -> Schedule the restart
2. Activate the toggle button in the Schedule a time section.
3. To complete the installation, select the time and day when the device will restart automatically (up to seven days in the future).
After completing this step, your device will not restart automatically to apply the update before your scheduled time. If you want to update again on the same day but are currently using your device, you can set the activation time for the update on the Windows Update Settings page.
Windows 10 features download update pause
If you want to pause downloading the latest version of Windows 10, follow the steps below.
1. Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update -> Advanced option
2. In the Pause Updates section, use the drop-down menu to select a time to delay the update. (If you are using Windows 10, version 1809, just activate the key switch).
After following these steps, your device will not download any features or quality updates via Windows Update for 35 days.
The Windows 10 updates that Microsoft regularly sends to your system are designed to update your operating system. They are mostly good. However, sometimes an update can go wrong, so some Windows users prefer to delay the update for a week or two to make sure it’s not a problem. Also, updates are sometimes delivered at inconvenient times (for example, if you are working on a project with a strict schedule).
You can’t stop the update completely, but you can turn it off. If you do not want to download an update or delay it due to a possible crash, you can change the settings as follows:
You must be on the Windows Update page. Otherwise, click the Windows Update button on the left sidebar.
If there are any expected updates, they will be given at the top. Otherwise, you will see a message that it is up to date. Scroll down and you’ll see the Pause updates for 7 days button. Tap to stop updating the device for a week.
The Windows Update page now notifies you that an update is pending. If you wish, you can click the Pause updates for 7 days button to suspend the update for a few more weeks. (I can take breaks up to 5 weeks). You can cancel this process by clicking the Resume updates button at the top of the screen.
Tap Advanced options at the bottom of the page to stop the update until the specified date download option, and then Pause updates. You can Select date here to stop the update. Note that updates can be suspended for a maximum of 35 days, after this time, the device needs to be updated before stopping the update again.
Notes: that you can’t delay Windows 10 updates forever
If you delay the update, Windows 10 will respect the settings shown. However, after the delay expires, updates cannot be stopped until Windows 10 installs the latest version available on that date. To configure when Windows 10 can install updates and restart your computer, see the Setup section when Windows 10 can install updates and restart your computer.
You can turn off updates no matter which version of Windows 10 you are using (Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home). If you use the Windows 10 May 2020 update, you can only delay for 35 days. If you are using an older and more expensive version of Windows 10 (such as Windows 10 Pro), you can delay it for 365 days.
If your device has the Windows 10 May 2020 update, follow the first two steps in this article. This step applies. If you already have versions like Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Education or Windows 10 Enterprise, you have additional controls that allow you to delay updates for 365 days. Users of this version must read this guide in its entirety.
Features updates to Windows 10, such as the October 2020 update, include new features, bug fixes, and operating system improvements. However, it can sometimes cause stability issues on some computers or devices. Therefore, we recommend that you wait at least a month instead of downloading these updates immediately. Please tell us why you decided to suspend the Windows 10 update before closing this guide. Have you had problems in the past? We comment and discuss below.
