Based on the research, Gloom was born Kassima Isabelle in Lethbridge, Canada, on December 19, 1990. She is of mixed British, Chinese, Malaysian and Italian descent. Gloom was raised alongside her two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister. Gloom moved to Singapore along with her beloved family where she spent most of her own childhood. Later, Gloom returned to Canada and started attending elementary school. She was bullied in the school because of her ethnicity.

After graduating from high school, Gloom or Kassima Isabelle attended college where she improved her grades. Then, she received an invitation to join a university. During her first semester in the university, Gloom faced some health problems including depression. Her effort to avoid depression with anti-depressants did not yield results that made her suicidal and irritable. Gloom even took a break from attending university and attempted her hand at posting videos on YouTube.

In the year 2015, Gloom made a YouTube channel and started posting gaming and commentary videos. Then, Gloom went on to post different types of videos, such as vlogs, skits, and parodies. Fortunately, her YouTube channel started accumulating thousands of subscribers and views in a short period of time, making her as a YouTube star.
